Moondance by Van Morrison

Love it. When ever I think of a "perfect record" this is one that always comes to mind. The use of saxaphone really thickens up the sound. And the mix in general is just stellar. Fantastic song writing. What else could you want out of this album? Nothing. Perfection.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes

Wow. I have ways loved this record. For sure one of the best sad boi albums. It's very simple yet i think it really inspired a lot of bands after it. Will never not wanna listen to this album. The bass playing is phenomenal and while the lyrics are rather crude and sometimes borderline creepy just has so much emotion behind them. No doubt there's so problematic emotions here. Its just so raw.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex

What a good gateway from blues rock into alt. rock. A very solid album all the way through. Simple and still sophisticated

This is a solid blues rock album. Not a huge fan of Rod Stewart, but the instrumentation and mix is pretty solid. I can totally understand how someone might love this album. 3 stars.

Back In Black by AC/DC

I did not expect to like this album as much as I did listening to it again. Really just kind of the next step after Led Zeppelin. A bit more obviously horny but just killer guitar tone and driving drums and bass.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Mar 03 2021

Pretty solid metal album. Rocks hard. I still like Bruce as a vocalist for this band better, but this is definetly a good start for them!

Disintegration by The Cure
Mar 04 2021

The height of the sad boi sound. The songs on this album really use the many synths and make such beautiful textures and is really just well crafted songs all around. No I ripping guitar, but beautiful simple guitar lines to add to the texture of the songs. Love to hear this one.

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Mar 05 2021

To be honest this album didn't really catch me. There's a few good songs. Definitely not my favorite Who album.

The Cars by The Cars
Mar 08 2021

Such a consistently good pop rock album. Not a bad song on here. I love how the cars kind of mixed bluesy rock with synths. It really influenced so many bands afterward.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Mar 09 2021

A really cool take on like electronic music mixed with live instruments. I would say this sounds like an emo Gorillaz. I liked a lot of this record. Lots of noise and chiggy guitars tend to make for a good time.

Spiderland by Slint
Mar 10 2021

Spiderland is a solid emo rock album. Very intense vocals paired with intense change of dynamics throughout each track. A lot of really beautiful instrumental sections. Lots of really nice guitar work.

Quiet Life by Japan
Mar 11 2021

This sounds like a scary/emo Duran Duran. Really love the use of fretless bass for texture. Good album. Dark synth pop is not something you hear too often, but these folks do a great job of making music that you know a vampire from the 80's would make.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Mar 15 2021

Such a good blues rock album. Love an upbeat first track. So many good good songs in the record. The guitar work is so subtle but really adds so much to each song.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Mar 17 2021

99% of the songs on this album are total bops and make me wanna dance anytime I hear them. Amazing bass playing on both bass guitar and bass synth. I love everything about this record and only wish I was around when it initially came out to experience it. Amazing.

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Mar 18 2021

There were some pretty good songs on here. Honestly, it was way too long and I just got burnt out halfway through.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Mar 19 2021

Solid blues album. Just seems like they're all having fun and playing the blues.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Mar 22 2021

One of the best rhythm section of all time. Just another stellar album from a stellar band.

Mar 23 2021

Such a good group. Chuck D is one of my fave MCs. And Terminator X is such a good dj. The beats and political charges lyrics come together so we'll and makes for a good listen.

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis

This album rules. Love a modern sounding soul funk sound. Synths plus soul is such a good combo.
