The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan

Cool, experimental. Important. It was interesting hearing this early version of new wave music, but the songs themselves were a bit too meandery for my taste.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead

I’m biased because I LOVE Radiohead, but this album captures a lot of what I love about them, especially the contrast between somber moments and crazy, driving, soundscapy moments.

Bad by Michael Jackson
May 07 2021

Solid, great songwriting, great performance by MJ, one of the best albums of the 80’s.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
May 10 2021

A decent blues album. Unfortunately I don’t particularly care for Eric Clapton’s guitar playing.

Dec 17 2022

Great listen! So many great moments, some energetic, some poignant and beautiful.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Dec 19 2022

Wow Norah!!! Beautiful stuff, great songwriting, great performance.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Dec 20 2022

Cool, experimental. Important. It was interesting hearing this early version of new wave music, but the songs themselves were a bit too meandery for my taste.

The Yes Album by Yes
Dec 21 2022

Fantastic. What a band, what a sound, such great writing and performance by everyone.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Dec 22 2022

Great album, classic, a must-listen for metal heads!

Rio by Duran Duran
Dec 23 2022

A mainstay to the 80’s new wave movement, that absolutely rocks hard!

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Dec 24 2022

Exquisite songwriting by Paul as usual. Could’ve used some higher energy numbers, but a very good debut effort by him!

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Dec 25 2022

I had never listened to a Slipknot album before, and this seems like the perfect place to start! Great metal record, with plenty of contrast and interesting compositions to keep the listener engaged!

Dec 26 2022

Hey, I get the appeal. It’s a collection of what are now considered classic renditions of Christmas songs, perfectly capturing the sound of the 60’s.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Dec 27 2022

This album just felt… half-baked. Like an unfurnished apartment. I needed more than this. Not sure what kind of statement they were trying to make but.. it doesn’t speak to me.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Dec 28 2022

Erykah has such a voice, but literally and figuratively. So creative, such a great vocalist, and a great vibe all around.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Dec 29 2022

What is there to say? An all time classic, a game-changer for the genre of jazz, and a huge leap into the unknown by Trane. 5/5

Sea Change by Beck
Dec 30 2022

Interesting album. Nice sound design. Great for a specific mood, otherwise the album just felt sleepy to me. Very unique sounding though!

Dec 31 2022

This album is a classic for a reason. An absolute masterpiece start to finish, amazing compositions and performances by everyone involved. One of the great concept albums.

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Jan 01 2023

Very interesting album! Nice blend of African rhythms and 90’s production. I’m really curious as to the meaning behind the lyrics, and will have to do some digging on my own.

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Jan 02 2023

Some nice moments, but this album was just lost on me. I didn’t get it, maybe need to understand it in context. Kinda boring. Songwriting didn’t feel that interesting to me.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jan 03 2023

Decent album. I have no desire to listen to it again, but then it doesn’t help that I’m not the biggest Stones fan. I just don’t find their music very intelligent. Does not speak to me.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jan 04 2023

I’m biased because I LOVE Radiohead, but this album captures a lot of what I love about them, especially the contrast between somber moments and crazy, driving, soundscapy moments.

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Jan 05 2023

Unexpected great listen! Loved the energy on this record, the songwriting, the way it rocks hard it it’s own way!

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 06 2023

One of the worst albums I’ve ever heard. Nails on a chalkboard. No clue what it is doing here.

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Jan 08 2023

Very silly album. Kinda bizarre. But it had me chuckling.

Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
Jan 12 2023

Was not too familiar with Sheryl Crow’s works before hearing this album. It was truly the perfect introduction to her. Excellent songwriting, a truly original voice.

Boston by Boston
Feb 01 2023

It blows me away that Tom Sholz recorded and produced this album in his basement, in the 70’s, and it sounds like this. Amazing quality, and not to mention Boston ROCKS HARD! I love this album, and it’s a classic for a reason!

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Feb 12 2023

Incredible album. Alice In Chains, easily one of the greatest rock bands ever, and possibly the greatest grunge band to exist. Great songs, love the dark energy they radiate. Chef’s kiss!

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Feb 16 2023

Decent stuff, very folksy. Not really my vibe.
