Talking With the Taxman About Poetry
Billy BraggGreat songwriting and I love the minimal guitar tones; usually clean with a tad bit of chorus. Regional melody influences give a real sense of "folk". May have to add this to the rotation.

Cool synth sounds and an iconic voice. I didn't realize this record didn't release in the 80s. Definitely, some tracks that are part of my musical consciousness, but I doubt I would get super into the rest of the catalog.
Great songs. I never appreciated how complete of an album this is. Added to my list of vinyl to look for.

Nope. Not for me. I can see how this is influential on lots of artists and genres, but I personally need a little more structure and prefer lyrics.
Nas is a legend.
meh
First track is groove right off the bat. Whole album is just a vibe. I will be coming back to this one.
Not my jam, but again I can see how it influence tons of artist that I love. So much chorus on guitar lines. I like the doubled vocals.
I don't like this album much at all.
I mean, come on. It's a vibe. I read on Wikipedia that some of the album contained tracks that were never played in the studio, but were spliced together from tapes and loops. God bless the person who did all of that splicing in 1970.
Yeah. Not bad. Some cool tunes. Not likely to come back to this one.
No thank you.
Definitely some cool vibes. I would listen to again while working, but won't crank it in the car with the windows down.
No thank you.
GET THE LED OUT!
Generally vibey and I had no idea this record is from the early 80's. I always assumed they were a mid 90's band.
LEGEND STATUS This album has it all - riffs, thoughtful lyrics, grooves, and a unique flavor.
This surprise me. The production on this album is incredible. Silky smooth, but dancey at the same time. Total vibes.
Prince is a legend, and this album is legendary. A personal fav.
Dolly is always great. Such a special voice and songwriter. I was surprised by the bass work on these tracks. Just solid gold.
My personal rating just a reflection of my enjoyment of this style of music. The sampling and production is definitely amazing, especially considering the type of technology available when this record was made.
Vibes and iconic voice.
Great record with an eclectic mix of songs and sounds. I had no idea this was the same band behind \"I'm Not in Love\" and \"The Things We Do for Love\"
5 stars. No notes.
Bowie has a such an iconic voice and when he's leaning into more pop/dance structures I really love it. But there's a lot that I just don't enjoy listening too when it comes to most of the songs and lyrical delivery.
It's fine, but I probably won't listen to it much.
5 stars. No notes. In my opinion, this is not a hip-hop album. To Pimp a Butterfly is a jazz album.
Not bad, but not super memorable. It's a vibe that only Jack White has. I'll probably put it in the rotation, but only as background.
