Bongo Rock
Incredible Bongo BandI like bongos, but not that much
I like bongos, but not that much
I liked the first song and after that one I felt like Bryan Adams was in the building
Really loved the earlier pet shop boys albums but this one just isn't very good. The most known song, go west always annoyed me and the others all sound like Stock A and Waterman even though I know it isn't. Very disappointing and I am a huge fan of this band so it stings.
I don't hate this, it does remind me of uni students with long greasy hair and plans to drink lots of beer once they finish studying with this blasting out and rollups filling their ashtrays. It is a big cheesy lyrically but it has great rhythms and it is really melodic vocally. I honestly am very happy to keep listening to the end.
It seems to just drone on, i really do not like it
It was all right but I think a lot of it was samey and a bit like listening to them having a jam session. A couple of good tunes however
Nice 60's feel to it, free love and all that. Lyrics are a bit simple for me. It had a few tracks i really enjoyed but on the whole it was not a keeper
It was 60's definitely. And it was catchy in places. I didn't want to rush out and buy it but it was a pleasant listen. Wouldn't mind never hearing it again though.
These songs are too slow and not very interesting, they seem a bit pretentious in some ways. I preferred Faith when George first went solo. And there is too much echo on his voice in most of these songs
This is a great album, i could see me playing it in the background while cleaning or painting or something, very soothing, very catchy. I recalled a couple of the songs and loved the overall sound of the album
A bit of a hot mess, some interesting sounds but I just got bored and wanted it to end. I thought the female voices on the first track were cool, but all i could think with the lead vocalist voice was pretentious. Sorry, but no.
I'm not so into this type of sound. I do like bass, but more techno and I like rap but I did not find the lyric moved me. The beats were very down beat and the vocals not so impressive.
The Rescue Blues is a lovely track. And Nobody Girl is also good. I also hear Beatles influences in there. Sylvia Plath is gorgeous. Okay, I despise Country as a balloon genre but I have to say that this guy, with his voice that goes from Elton John to Leo Sayer to something more less-inspiring country-like, has made a great album I have really enjoyed, but don't tell anyone..
It was all right and a bit amusing but it is an album I'd never download or listen to again, he's cool though.. the hair, the swagger but the tunes did not really inspire me.
This is absolute gold. I love his voice and love how you can hear every lyric, it cuts through. And he does some really interesting quirky sounds in his voice. he just drops them in there. However you can tell its early talking heads and a lot of the songs sound very similar
Not for me. My brain would not forget that it was metallica. Just not my genre. It did not sound very orchestral, i'm sure there was a lot of electric guitar in there. Where was the woodwind and acoustic strings?
I liked this album, it was so of it's time and i got a curtis mayfield vibe quite a few times. It is nice to listen to in the background, chilling, relaxing and hearing something soothing.
Quite a bit of swearing, but good riffs.
It starts off like it's mid-song, I kind of like that. I've never liked their biggest hits - the queerest of the queer and the rains song. Not my vibe but I'll keep going. A stroke of luck is nice. I always enjoyed Stupid Girl and I still like that one. My lover`s Box is great.
This was a treat as it reminded me of my father. It is the music of my childhood. However on close listen I think there was only 3 variety of rhythm in the whole album and I could easily sing the same lyrics to 95% of the songs.
I enjoyed the album, there were some strange and interesting sounds created. I would listen again.
I was so excited when this popped up. An artist I only really know one track of, but always felt one day I would invest time to listen to and knew I'd love. Three tracks in and I'm hearing wall to wall beauty. I really enjoyed the whole album. It sounds like there is so much space in the sound, like endless skies, towering mountains. Everything I had expected to hear from this artist.
I am not greatly into rap although I do appreciate it as an art form and expression. This was typical old skool rap and the flows were good, he has a nice tone. I likes some of the beats but the lyrics were not that clever.
I liked the first song and after that one I felt like Bryan Adams was in the building
Fabulous album so far, I've enjoyed every song. The harmonies are lovely and the 60s jangly guitar always sounds special.
Not for me, I do not like her voice or the songs, I do not really care to listen but respectfully will endure. 'It's too late' is a good song but I'd rather someone else sang it.
Let's get it on is an epic track, we can all agree and you'd be rather strange not to agree. However the rest of the album holds no magic for me, which is a real shame.
Never heard of them before, so I googled. I read a review that likened them to Leftfield which left me disappointed further with this album as Leftfield has so much more direction and intent with their tracks, these songs seem a bit aimless, no peaks and troughs. it is actually getting less interesting the more tracks I listen to unfortunately.
It seems to just drone on, i really do not like it
One Woman is a fantastic song. The album was okay but not very interesting
I really dislike this album and have nothing positive to say. sorry
This brings back memories of an era. I was not a fan, never a fan but I instantly recognise the era and the voice. Great album, I can understand why they have such true live-long devoted fans.
I quite enjoyed it, the songs sounded like dittys, conversations and were quirky and enjoyable enough. I could not see me downloading it though.
As I'm listening I'm realising more and more how fabulous her voice is and how suited to the genre. She is truly inspiring. The album is so catchy with star hits all over it.
His voice sounds very much like the waterboys on the first track, I swore he was irish and then saw it was an american rock group. It is not my favourite rock sound, like a mellow, laid back style of rock which doesn't resonate with me. It is pleasant enough though, I am happy to listen through. Not liking their choice of chords, they always seem so melancholy. It is making me feel a bit sad. America Snoring was better though.
It was a nice enough album to listen to but i found it did not have much depth, so it was almost restful, but not exciting.
Soothing, it is quite nice for a change. I was unable to sustain my listening. I needed more grrrrrr..
I'm not enjoying this much, it's like singer/songwriter/country but not as melodic, soothing or engaging as other artists.
This was a lot more melodic than I expected. Quite tuneful
I like bongos, but not that much
I like this. Not sure if it's the album cover influencing me, but I'm getting vibes of medieval england while listening. Some of the guitar is beautiful, especially on Tiger Mountain Peasant Song. I'm surprised this is from the 2000s. I realised I knew a few of the songs towards the end there. Really good album.
I was a bit underwhelmed, it sounds like it may have been fresh for the time but now it sounds badly produced and there is so much better ethereal stuff out there now
This album is good. I am not a head-butting rock lover but I can recognise good melodic rhythms, tight guitar playing and generally well put together distinctive and individual songs.
i love this album, always have, i love Neil's voice and almost spoken word style. I love how catchy the songs are. Always a pleasure to listen to the pet shop boys
The guitar is good. But it is not music I really enjoyed. It would be okay live in a bar however, with a lot of drink involved
Really loved the earlier pet shop boys albums but this one just isn't very good. The most known song, go west always annoyed me and the others all sound like Stock A and Waterman even though I know it isn't. Very disappointing and I am a huge fan of this band so it stings.
I really enjoy this artist, always had a soft spot. I always have to listen to every lyric when he sings and his tone and delivery are perfect. Great album
I'm Scared (Insert) is awesome. And I love the beats to We Had To Tear This Mothafucka Up. The entire album flows well and it is so inappropriate and completely topical at the same time. There are great messages in there. I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would.
It's rather beautiful to start off with.
This is full of pearls, nice. I like it. Bit mellow for me, but there are some catchy good tunes there. Nice..
Listened to about half. It was not so bad, had good riffs and I liked the lead singer's voice, for that style of singing, I admired it more than most, quite tuneful
Good stuff, interesting, spunky and very youthful and alive. I always loved Take Me Out, the lyrics are so good, the sound, the voice and sharpness of the overall sound. Nice one! And the dark of the matinee! What a song.. Sublime lyrics.
This is so easy to listen to. Soothing, rolls over the skin and senses. I cant say I'm 100% invested, but I have no desire to run away screaming either.
