Songs In The Key Of Life
Stevie WonderExcellent album. Great showcase of Wonder’s broad and confident musical abilities on numerous instruments. Each song provides not only a unique feel but an insight to the artist’s life.

Joni has excellent vocal tone, range, and control. Strong band called accompaniment. Sounds fitting from the generation. Wouldn’t be soon sought out again, but a strong album in its own right.

Songs were shorter than what I am used to from this style of music, but each song has a unique feel. Decent listen, but I will be adding a handful to my jazz and blues playlists.
Strong start to the album with some of the more recognizable songs, followed up with a surprisingly more orchestral, slow, and melodious ending.
Exceeded my initially low expectations and poor impression to provide a solid soft and easy listening album. Probably not one I seek out consistently, but would be perfect to have on in the background to end an evening or enjoy a vice or two.
Not really for me.
Sounded like a weirder version of Bowie in a good way
In short, sounded like a less musically talented version of the Doors. Started with a war time political message followed by okay music.
Honestly, I’m surprised this album wasn’t more on my radar. Feels like it should be firmly in the classic rock rotation.
Sounds like home. Short and solid album with heavy hitters in Born on the Bayou and Proud Mary and solid jams throughout.
Solid, competent album. Showed that Oasis had more range than I was expecting.
Incredibly naturally yet experimental sounds from this wonderful jazz album.
Another great album highlighted by “You are the Sunshine of My Life” and “Superstition,” but features many of Wonder’s strong, but softer songs.
Might be some of my favorite Thelonious Monk works I’ve heard. Strong mix of emotions and styles in a tight album. Features other musicians and stays true to the man at the center of the album.
Stuck between a 2 and 3 on this one (to avoid giving every album the same score). Decent amount to like, fun sections at times, but just not enough to move the needle for me.
Some high highs mixed with lower points, this was decent sample of the Flaming Lips different sounds and song offering, but probably not their strongest album front to back.
I’ll start by saying it’d probably be a 2.5 if I could give partial scores, but it’s a decent funk album that’s easy to listen to. Didn’t move the needle much, but hard not to enjoy.
Strong album. Worth a 3.5, but not a 4. Highlighted by a couple strong singles, but there is not a low point in the album filled with competent country songs.
Incredible album I’ve listened to for years. Lives up to the reputation after all this time. High points are incredibly high. Outside of interludes, hard to find a song I wouldn’t describe as at least good to great (albeit sometimes weird).
