Meh. Wouldn't immediately turn off if playing in the background. Pleasant sound but completely forgettable. Would watch their amphetamine-fuelled backs for 20 minutes. Extra points for About You. Many negative points for god-awful rhyming.

This was so interesting. Only knew three of their songs before listening to the album (Bad Moon Rising, Susie Q, Have You Ever Seen The Rain) and really didn't expect all the rock'n'roll/blues - what a range! "Travelin' Band" was the first song that made me go "....Elvis?". Then came "Ooby Dooby", which is just a worse "Tutti Frutti" (which I know as an Elvis song, sorry Little Richard). Followed by "My Baby Left Me", an Elvis cover (okay so Elvis's version was also a cover, but come on. It's an Elvis song). "I Heard it Through The Grapevine" is another cover on the album. Sorry, but The Slits' version is so much better. Marvin Gaye's too. So fun to see it on here though! Really enjoyed "Who'll Stop The Rain" and "Run Through The Jungle".

Music-wise really not my vibe. A lot of cool lyrics in there though. Good storytelling. Some faves: "A bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down and won" "There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes, Jesus died for nothing I suppose" "Your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore; They're already overcrowded from your dirty little war"

This one fucking confused me. No clue what I think. Some bits I really liked, some I actively hated - way too excessive. Maybe having a joint before re-listening will open my eyes. One to return to.
