Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Oct 24 2022

Day 1! October 24th 2022. Very nice! First Dylan album I listened to in its entirety. Some songs were a drag, but most of them were really nice. I'm surprised by how bluesy it was, felt like every other song employed the 12-bar blues. Will listen again and add a few of the songs to my playlist. Didn't get into the lyrics for this listen-through, but will have to do so on future ones!

Day 2. October 24th 2022. Listening while writing partial exam in Computer Security. First thoughts, very 60s, pretty goofy. Also actually a bit psychadelic? There was a childlike naivité without a layer of (what I detected at least) irony in both music and lyrics that felt pretty jarring - I liked it, but it's not something I'm used to. I added a one or two songs to my playlist, but I'm not sure I will come back to this album.

Abraxas by Santana

Day 3. October 25th 2022. Nice music. Could be nice to put on in the background after a long day of work, sipping some cognac. But not very interesting to me.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Oct 27 2022

October 26th 2022. Day 4. Fun to listen to my first full Elvis album. Quite alright.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Oct 28 2022

Day 5. October 28th 2022 Enjoyable. I do listen to some indie rock but this is my first the Smiths album. The whole album kind of blended together into one mass, but I think I will be able to get into them if I give them a few more listens. Morrissey's voice is nice.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Oct 31 2022

Day 6. October 29th. Really nice. Enjoying the odd time signatures. This might be the first jazz album I've gotten through while still being entertained all throughout. Will be a repeat listen.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Nov 02 2022

Day 8. November 1. Love that this album showed up. Sounding really good so far. Not exactly an album for focused listening, but works nicely as accompaniment. The songs could be shorter to make them more concise and sweet, they're a bit bloated now. But consider my interest in Fela Kuti and Afrobeat piqued.

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Nov 04 2022

November 4th, 2022. Alright. Some really good songs there. Some sleepers. Ruined a bit by the weird mixes (both mono and stereo).

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jan 22 2026

Kul 50-tals big band jazz. Lätt att lyssna på. Inget som fastnar på första lyssningen men trevligt att sätta på igen då o då tror jag.
