Upbeat, strong, gritty classic rock. Lead singer has a great voice for rock. Seems like later groups drew on this album as inspiration for their sound.
alt rock made nice n weird
funky kind of dance hall pop. favorite tracks: liberation, dreaming of the queen
fav songs: blue eyes crying in the rain, red headed stranger, denver, can i sleep in your arms
Pretty good representation of its semi-psychedelic rock genre a la The Cure, The Romantics, The Smiths, etc. Fav tracks were the popular ones, Start! and That's Entertainment.
shame that it’s not on apple music or spotify anymore
1984 cool intro track fav songs: hot for teacher, I’ll wait notes: I liked Panama more than I remember liking it. Hearing it in context of the album is a lot different from hearing it in the background as a helicopter of marines flies over the rice paddies and rainforests of vietnam
Love AM, love this album
not usually my type of stuff but it was good music and easy to get lost in
awesome album very fun, easy listening
fun, idiosyncratic poppy alt-rock with reggae (?) influences (?) very interesting. they can’t all be bangers. but the ones that were, were!
i love new order yay
love the voice, love the music, love the freely given and taken emotion
the transition into “city with no children” was fire. arcade fire.
