Head Hunters
Herbie HancockCool. Funky vibes and lines and I dig it, but not a relaxing or chill album when it gets to Sly. Goes back to funky slow grooves afterwards. 8/10 would listen on the record player.

Would listen to again.
Loved it. Good vibes. Would listen to again.
ZZ Top maybe not my favorite. I appreciate it, but generally found it boring
Lovely album.
Excellent
Pretty good. I need to listen again but I was jamming on the first play through.
There was so much enjoyment from this album. Just a freaking charcuterie board of samples and sounds. I would have preferred more cohesion or that next step. This felt like the start.
Ooooh Janis is good! Not all the songs work for me, but love the blues and her voice hitting hard.
Fuck yeah
This isn’t a bad album, but I need more than one listen to do it justice. As it is, it’s The Smiths and it’s fine. I also think, given the influence the my had, it’s almost difficult to listen to this now. Certainly, it doesn’t fit into my regular repertoire.
Interesting album. Certainly doesn’t sound like it’s almost 50 years old. I can see how this was influential. At the end of the day, I don’t necessarily need to listen to it again. For me, it doesn’t go at the top of a list, but I recognize what I’m listening to.
Nice, easy, listening. Not ground breaking but exactly what you want when it’s right.
Interesting, but ultimately didn’t pull anything for me.
This album is a full bop and speaks to me. Like an album that’s been missing all my life. One of the first albums I’m actually adding to my rotation. Unobjectively giving it 5/5 .I don’t care - I want to blast it in my car.
I didn’t know I hated the Red Hot Chili Peppers so much until listening to this album.
I think the problem with this album is I can’t quite remember it. Overall, as with a lot of older albums on this list, I think that might have more to do with me than with the album itself. I would listen to again (so I could freshly remember).
Listen - I was the prime audience for this album when it came out and I soaked it up. I can only reflect on it through that lens. But listening to this album over 20 years later certainly hits differently. It is still a banger for me, but knowing where Chester was ultimately at and issues of mental health in teens…it’s more desperate. Not a ground breaking record for music, but a groundbreaking record for me that opened the door for me to appreciation of metal.
