1001 Albums Summary

One of the all-time classics. I am very glad that this was the first album to pop up on the list. It continues to get better after every individual listens, and I always seem to find something new in the mix. 10/10

Fantastic record from the 80’s. Such a monumental recording for Duran Duran and for pop music in general. The bass lines and guitar parts on this album are particularly amazing.

I have seen this album around for a long time, but had never taken time to actually listen to it. One of the first bands to really make it big in the Brit-Pop craze of the early 90's, Suede was always destined for greatness. They showed what they had and made a giant name for themselves with singles such as The Drowners, Animal Nitrate, and So Young. Personally, the album just doesn't resonate with me like albums from other bands of the time. Singer Bernard Butler gives a great performance on almost every track, while guitarist Brett Anderson is clearly the highlight of the band. Favorite tracks: Moving, Sleeping Pills

One of the greatest albums of the 70s and one of the greatest albums by the legendary Who. Put together from scraps of their abandoned "Lifehouse" project, Who's Next was a powerhouse of songs for the ages. All four members of the band are at the top of their games, especially vocalist Roger Daltrey. With singles like Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes, and Won't Get Fooled Again, the album became an instant classic. Definitely recommend it to any person that enjoys music.

One of my favorite albums of all time and The Cure's magnum opus. Disintegration is a masterclass in gothic rock, that was able to break further into the mainstream and take the band to a career-high. While singles like Pictures of You, Lullaby, and Love Song are staples of their career, the albums' deep tracks like Plain Song, Untitled, Prayers for Rain, and The Same Deep Waters As You are staples of the genre. Would recommend it to anyone that wants to hear a masterpiece.

Wonderful album by Nick Cave, does not have the post-punk sound of his other records. Recorded on piano, Cave's beautiful lyrics and deep voice bring a certain melancholy to all the tracks.
