The Jesus And Mary ChainProbably one of the worst things I've heard maybe ever? This actually made me angry honestly like some of the most grating shit lmao.

Man this was a rough one and I'm only giving 2 stars because the Instrumentation was pretty good, because otherwise I cannot point to one song on the album I enjoyed, I thought it was really bad actually. I think there's fun to be had for sure but the lead vocalist cannot sing for shit and that ruins almost every song on here I genuinely was considering giving it the lowest score for that but upon reflection it has energy to it, the instrumentation is good and I respect what it's going for but none of the songs are good so going to slap it with 2 stars baby.
Most of the Album is pretty good, this is the type of music I grew up with a lot. A lot of the songs aren't particularly memorable upon first listening and a lot of them are quite samey, I'd even say there are one or two I just didn't vibe with. The Windmills of Your Mind is quite the banger and is refreshingly different for this album, it made the playlist. Another favourite was In the Land of Make Believe. With no outright bad songs and even a few great ones, there's worse ways to spend your time. Feeling a strong 6, to a light 7 as Fantano would say.
A pretty good Album overall. It's quality remains quite consistent and the songs never dip into bad or even boring territory but I can't think of any of the Songs in this Album as out right great either. None of Bob Marley's best are in here, and while it's nice listening to them and they have some pretty great instrumentation, it just doesn't quite hit compared to his Album Exodus which still probably remains his best work. Still give it listen if you're a fan of either the artist or Reggae in general.
This Album was pretty great, I'm happy that the first time I've ever given *checks notes* Smashing Pumpkins a shot was with such a strong Album. Every song was at least enjoyable and a good number of them were honestly fantastic. They're very good at making music sound...sad I guess? Damn I hope they're doing all right. Every song up until Spaceboy is really good on the old ears, though I feel that the last three songs aren't as good as what came before unfortunately but it never dips into being bad which is amazing honestly. A few of my favourites were: Cherub Rock - This is hilariously maybe the most alternative rock song I've ever heard and I think that's fine because it's pretty great. Today - He's talking about how his day is great which is pretty nice until he starts talking about how life can't give him what he wants and it's like damn misleading intro dude. Disarm - Honestly worth price of admission alone, what an absolute banger, this would definitely be used for a cinematic trailer or something. Beautiful. Mayonaise - Quite soothing makes me want to go out on the field and pose with my arms out but then you actually listen to the lyrics and it's like damn sad. Give this album a listen, just do it already you aren't building a library in your spare time I know you haven't got anything else going on.
I'd have loved to have been alive when this album dropped, it represents a piece of Hip Hop History that is so radically different to what we get today that it's very refreshing. It's also just nice to listen to songs where it's not all about shooting someone and getting bitches which is also a nice change. Highly influential to what came after it you can tell that it inspired plenty of music because a lot of the songs here are uhh....well they're something alright. There's like 20+ tracks in this thing and a lot of them are dedicated to just them shooting the shit which is funny and it's nice to listen to something upbeat and trying to make you vibe with the song and make you laugh too. One of the songs randomly has one of the members doing an Italian impression like lmao what? While I appreciate what they go for I do have to admit I probably won't return to the album as a whole, all the songs have good beats and they definitely can rap. I just find a lot of it memorable more so because they chat shit rather than the songs actually being great. I think the two exceptions to this are Ghetto Thang because the beat is so smooth and Tread Water which impressively makes a catchy tune out of a guy seeing a crocodile or something. The album is a little corny but there's a lot to like here if you don't mind your hip hop being a little less serious. It's just a lot of fun isn't it?
I have never heard of Arcade Fire before, but when I started listening to this album I wish I had because the song "The Suburbs" is an excellent piece of music and probably one of the strongest starts to an album so far. Ready to Start and Modern man were also really good, I was thinking this is going to be an all timer but then you realise the album is very and I mean VERY front loaded and the album loses steam very quickly. I don't think it's bad and they can make nice sounding instrumentals I suppose but man the lead singer can only really sing in one kind of way and whenever the lady got to sing it was probably the most skippable songs in the Album. There's also not a lot of variety here which is a shame. I was originally going to give this 3 stars but the biggest problem is the Album out right disappoints you. While the album started well Arcade Fire just feel like one of those band that people claim to love as real music while saying The Beatles are overrated or something.
Kind of Annoying to listen too honestly. I had no idea Bjork was in this. I just don't care for the instrumentation or vocals honestly it just felt like noise to me. There's some stuff here that's different I guess, I think Birthday might be the best track but idk it all just sounded like noise to me. *coughs*
This Album was pretty good. Talking Heads is just one of those bands that are reliable, their music is different and a lot of the times doesn't have many words in them but I think that's okay it's pretty interesting honestly. The whole album did kind of blend together for me, don't know if there were any stand outs but it was all good so why not give it a listen if you enjoy either Talking or Heads.
Pretty much everything I said about Fear of Music. Good Stuff. Occasionally Great stuff. Some Heads were indeed talking.
I liked it quite a bit, the album started strong with Scrape Away and stayed pretty consistent throughout. I like that the whole album is quite upbeat makes for a nice easy listen, though I think the album is lacking in true bangers and a lot of the songs repeat the chorus a lot but it never gets bad. I wish Set the House Ablaze closed the album out.
This Album is actually hilarious, it sounds like it was made by someone who thinks they're the biggest badass around and wanted to sing about it, but it's less singing and more like he's talking you through the stories he's telling. It's ridiculously lame, lmao.
Very upbeat, very catchy, a bit samey but I guess that's to be expected. All good songs not much I can really say other than got my Mojo Working is infectiously catchy.
Oh man, this reminds me of the days I'd go out by the countryside and go fishing with Pa. Good, if a little unmemorable besides the last song where he sounds like he's having a mental breakdown part way through.
Please Rise for the Incel national anthem 🫡 Thing is the instrumentation is REALLY good and this shows in songs like Gentlemen and Be Sweet and then like you listen to what he's singing about and it's pretty silly and honestly lame. But there are good songs here, again the two I mentioned I quite liked, it's just a clash of the music sounding excellent the singer sounding pretty shit which evens it out, shame.
Absolutely phenomenal. You know an album is pretty great when the worst song on here is pretty good. There's some deep shit in this Album of you care about that kinda stuff but what I love about this is unique form of Hip Hop this is and man every single beat in this Album goes hard. Wesley's Theory, King Kunta, how Much a Dollar Cost, The Blacker The Berry and the Mortal Man are all certified classics. This Album is an experience and highly reccomended to anyone that wants to listen to music focusing on black culture because there's some really good shit here.
Probably one of the worst things I've heard maybe ever? This actually made me angry honestly like some of the most grating shit lmao.
Honestly too slow and boring for my tastes. Just not my kind of music.
I thought at first this album would be quite bad, the first few songs really weren't good but once you get to Burst and Motorcade it picks up a little and those are good songs. It's a very unique sounding album I suppose for better and for worse but I thought Shot by both Sides was really strong. Give it a listen why not.
Before I detail my review I'm writing this with a papercut so sorry if I cut this short. Linkin Park is that band that every privileged young boy that hated their parents listened to bringing them one step closer to their nihilistic phase. If I listened to this album with you as an adult I'd definitely get second hand embarrassment, though I have absolutely 0 nostalgia for Linkin Park I kinda thought they were lame in secondary school and whilst given the real life circumstances surrounding the lead singer i'd never call them that now, the whole album has this corporate feel to it. When I first listened to Linkin Park it was in 2007 when the Transformers Movie came put my parents expressed their Points of Authority and said that, that music was no good and maybe their words were left crawling in my skin because I never really listened to them after that. I could see why someone who wants to be a Runaway would enjoy this music, it's filled with angst and disdain for the people surrounding them which I guess is relatable to the average teen, I'm just happy I could listen to those album my myself dully for the first time and In the End definitively acknowledge that Linkin Park were just not very good. I feel this album was a good place for my head because it's loud and kind of obnoxious and after like a day or two most of this will be forgotten. The meme song is undeniably catchy and I can't in good faith call is a bad song which makes it a cure for the itch in wanting to find something decent on this album. But the more the album went on the more it was pushing me away, from the bad vocals to the obnoxious lyrics, I won't be revisiting this one any time soon. High Voltage.
I'm starting to think that they wasted a lot of these slots. I know 1001 Albums seems like a lot but you can't pick every album from every band ever and I'm sure some real classics are left out for Albums like this. It's both annoying AND boring which is interesting because usually it's one or the other so good job. I find it annoying because the Instrumentation is fucking nails on a chalkboard and boring because the vocalist can only really sing in the droning dull kinda way. I don't know who this music is for but I'm glad I don't know them.
Pretty damn badass not gonna lie. Shockingly short. Don't think there's any true stand outs but the entire album is really cool.
This Album is 2 hours long and that's insane. I was really impressed with the Album Siamesse dream and so I was happy to see another Smashing Pumpkins album had been randomly generated. Overall this is a very good album but I do prefer Siamesse Dream for one reason, the album is too long. It probably has as many banger but this thing has 28 songs and so the chances of you making 28 great songs is unrealistic, but when the Album is good it's really good. I think opening on the titular Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness being an instrumental piece and a great one at the speaks volumes of thr confidence on display. Tonight Tonight continued the high quality and I had no idea THIS was the album Bullet with Butterfly Wings comes from because that's a classic and definitely elevates the album. Cupid De Locke is very nice on the ears I like when they do more softer pieces. The variety of display here is insane showing they can go hard rock as well as songs that are slow. Take me down was great, the run of songs from Thirty Three to 1979 are all fantastic and I love Farewell and Goodnight quite a bit. I do think there's a run of songs in a row that don't do it for me from X.Y.U through to Lily and Tales of a Scorched Earth is out right bad but that's the problem with doing a 2 hour album you're kind of stretched thin a bit. Still a great album one of the most unique so far that's for sure.
Of all the albums why is this the one that's rated so low? I thought it was fantastic. Particularly Fascist Groove Thang, Penthouse and Pavement, Soul Warfare, Let's all Make a bomb, The Height of The Fighting and Song with no Name
Pretty good throughout, a bit too slow for me for an entire album and some of these songs lose a bit of Steam after a bit, otherwise not bad at all.
Another solid album. Not much to say other than I think it's cool how the album feels like it needs to be listened to in it's entirety to get the full experience.
I thought this was a really interesting Album, all the songs were really good with my favourite being Re-Ignition, which is a banger of a song. Otherwise not much to say give it a listen.
Not to score things based on Nostalgia, but this is truly one of those Albums that are all killer and no Filler. Dire Straits are just one of those classic bands that I know inside and out and this album is no exception every song on here is great. The Album Starts really strong with So Far Away and Money for nothing and ends on arguably the two greatest songs on the Album One World and Brother in Arms. Perfectly paced I could listen to this over and over again it's just one of those absolute classics the diversity on display is great, the instrumentation particularly is good throughout and most importantly it doesn't overstay it's welcome like a lot of albums on here. Doing yourself a disservice by missing out on this one.
Damn, that's some classic Rock and Roll. This Album is definitely the type of music I love, it's all high energy and has a timelessness feeling to it and the fucking boys are back in town is on here man it's great just for that.
David Bowie guarantees a great time, listening to his stuff is always an experience and this album is no exception it's a really strong collection of songs. From the opening Song, Five Years you can tell this is going to be something special, I'm quite partial to Moonage Daydream myself. But this album also has Starman, it has starman bro that's like 2 stars just by itself one of his best for sure. Even songs that aren't MY favourite like Hang on to Yourself, still elicit so much energy and just sound right. The titular Ziggy Stardust is an absolute classic though, I love the guitar in this one it resonates with me everytime I hear it. Do yourself a favour and listen to it.
This Album is funny as fuck, there's something about the confidence in which he says "First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin." That had me laughing so hard. I mean I was never bored listening to this, it's just a really weird Album and I can't say it's unironically good but that First song was a time to be sure.
Not really my type of music, but eh it sounded good enough I don't find any of if particularly memorable but it's an easy and enjoyable listen for what it is.
The first half of the Album was better but I can't deny that the album as a whole was pretty fantastic and overall very uplifting and it's just nice to listen to isn't it?
Boring and annoying, they somehow managed it, guys. Marge deserved the shit she got for liking them honestly.
I liked Youth and I liked kids, otherwise this music just isn't for me. It is well made music but I find the singers to be annoying and droning and it just puts me off a lot of what otherwise probably would of been good songs. It's well made but I couldn't go back to it.
