Instrumentals are killer, vocals are okay, lyrics are a mix between nonsense and absurd. The songs are all much longer than I'd prefer. Many of the songs sound sort of samey to the ones that come before or after it. Overall, I can appreciate it but there's only, at most, a single song I'd come back and listen to; that being "Time to get away" specifically.
Album name is very fitting. Songs all come across very gospel-like, preachy, all with a message. Whatever that message is, I'm not quite sure. It's an interesting experience, and I don't regret giving it a listen through. No song was catchy or gripping enough for me to ever listen to one of these songs again, though.
Classic. What more is there to say? Everything slaps, even though there are only one or two songs I'd listen to on repeat. Just a good time.
I mean, come on. It's Michael Jackson. It does sound fairly dated, and some songs have aged worse than others. It's much like walking through a musical museum. An artifact of its time. But in the end, it's still Michael Jackson. Can't push myself to give it any less than four stars.
Vocals are good, instrumentals are moody, and I appreciate most of the album overall. Unfortunately, it's an absolute slog to get through. Nothing particularly interesting or gripping to any one song. Too many times while listening did bury my face in my hands, deeply sighing, wishing I was listening to something else.
Ranges from masterpiece to just fine. More homeruns than I expected. Though Adele has always been one of my favorite female vocalists, I didn't expect the songs on this album that I hadn't already heard to be bops. Still, I probably would never get the itch to listen to these songs again, which is important to me.
Wouldn't it be nice if this album was any good? Jokes aside, I was surprised that the most popular song on the album and the one it leads with is possibly the worst one on the album. The other songs don't seem to be built with being as catchy in mind, more so they sound more thoughtful or heartfelt. While I didn't particularly like any songs, it wasn't as difficult of an album to get through as most others, it makes for great background noise.
I'll start with what is good first, or rather, what I at least can appreciate in some way. It seems to me all involved in the producing and creation of this album are probably all fairly talented individuals. The different singers of the different songs have clearly nice voices, the instruments i.e guitar especially is played by someone quite skilled.
That being said, whoever wrote and composed these songs probably should pursuit a different career. Absolutely dreadful. A toddler, or perhaps a chimpanzee made this. That would almost be impressive, and I'd give it a higher rating if that were the case.
Every song seems like a smattering of random noises that are tuned to frequencies that make my eardrums want to burst. Each part of the song is working against itself, it almost seems like if you isolated a certain instrument, you'd realize it was actually recorded for an entirely different, possibly even good song. The lyrics accompanying each and every track makes me roll my eyes. This album makes me feel like I'm on the Titanic, the songs are all muddled and confused like a passenger scrambling and falling off the side of the ship as it sank (perhaps running away from a band playing awful music.)
It's been a long time since this album came out. Despite how bad it was, I can see how maybe this band might have cranked out some better songs after this. However, I will not be listening to them of my own volition, that's for sure.
Quite an interesting album. Firstly, the vibes are immaculate all the way through. The music is ghostly and otherworldly, yet dazzling at the same time. However, though the album has many high points, it's lows are just as prominent. Some of the strangest songs I've ever heard, to be honest. Every other song feels like it was composed by an alien who's music theory is vastly different from ours. I don't want to say it was bad, but it was so different that it was jarring. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this album, there are some songs I'll come back to, but I'm not sure id recommend to anyone I know to listen to the full thing.
Unbearable. Mind numbing. Listening to this is much like drowning. No, I will not elaborate.
Cool jam, not much to dislike. Not exactly my style but I did enjoy it.
Some classic songs here. It's certainly a vibe. I'm not sure I'd want to listen to this particular album again though. KISS has better music than this on offer.
Wow. I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this album was. While many of the lyrics come across as quite dated, the vibes are through the roof this album. Really outstanding. Would I come back to these? Well, maybe not. It's not my favored genre of music. But I sure won't forget any of these songs.
It's country. Normally, I don't mind country. I don't mind this just the same. But, it's country. I have a hard time feeling like I'd ever like to sit down and listen to any of this again. Not sure I like his voice, either.
This is an album I won't soon forget. Incredible music, just incredible. Time went by so fast as I worked with this album in my ears. I was grooving and dancing all the way through. I don't know when next I might listen to this again, but this has definitely been my favorite album in my music discovering journey so far. I think I'd prefer to give it a 4.5 but I can't so I'll let it be a close 5.
This is music for aliens. No doubt about it. There is a lot of genius here, but it's too extraterrestrial for me. If I came from the planet this originated from I'd probably give it 5 stars.
A good jam. There's some genius here. Bit of a struggle to sit down and listen to. Works better as background music.
Some fun country/blues-y love songs. Won't relisten but I enjoyed. Clearly very talented singer and these songs are the exact kind of thing I picture in my head if I were to describe my ideal kind of Country Music
It's whatever
