The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jul 26 2023

Very relaxed album. Never hit the charts either cause it wasnt getting much marketing. Andy warhol managed this group. This is my first impression of them. Its a pleasant listen, albeit murder mystery was a cool concept track, it didnt need to be 8 minutes. Some of it felt beatlesesque, while some of it would make for good driving music.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jul 27 2023

Couple tracks had the real cool brooklyn chill electric piano tune to it that I like. Again, Beastie boys is a group I can only relate to in that no sleep till brooklyn would be blasted at 7am at Camp Ockanickon on the speakers every morning. I liked them like every other kid did, but only knew them for their singular hits. This album was definitely playing more into the strengths of the trio, the in your face rap style with good beats. If you're hungry for a large helping of what makes beastie boys iconic, this album is a good second serving.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg

classic album. I'm not a rap expert, but you can feel from this album it's legendary quality. This is the genre's purest material.

Grace by Jeff Buckley

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Aug 18 2023

Haven't heard about this group since like 2000. Feels like they could easily be in a bond movie soundtrack. It's hard to describe, their music transcends a genre pick, cause theres a bit of electric, bit of jazz, bit of rock. No vocals. this is the group that did the geico commercial caveman music

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse

it was ok, not in love with neil youngs voice, this isnt my brand of rock that i prefer, most of the songs sound the same.

its like a mediocre version of nine inch nails with tv static turned up in the background. very meh. should stay in the 2000s.
