London Calling by The Clash
Oct 02 2023

They have a very specific recognizable sound. I imagine if I grew up around this period, with their new/unique sound, I would have been a fan. Some songs sound very similar - same structure (?) as their more well known songs- I.e- I fought the law. Think some of the songs could grow on me, others I can appreciate the composition/message, but they sound a little generic to a modern/uncultured listener. I'd still say the music has aged well. Reggae/Ska/Punk-rock influences. First listen 6/10-better than average. Could climb on repeat listens.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Oct 03 2023

Silky smooth easy listening. Pleasant music and voice. Love/Sensual songs - timeless

Imagine by John Lennon
Oct 04 2023

Enjoyed this more than I thought. I came in with pre-conceived notions as I had read some  not so favourable things about Lennon previously. Well written/composed songs, differing styles.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Oct 05 2023

Ok- easy listening, pleasant to listen to. Not my go to choice in music, but Ibcan understand why people would rate it.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Oct 06 2023

Did not enjoy. I am sure there is some Jazz out there I would find palatable, but this isnt it. Found the music disjointed, grating and was relieved when it finished.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Oct 07 2023

Not bad, would listen to again. didn't blow me away

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 09 2023

Simply Brilliant- Best album I've listened to so far. Will be exploring their back catalogue soon, expect to listen to this album again.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Oct 10 2023

Funky, upbeat, fun, albeit a little repetitive. 3.5

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Oct 11 2023

not bad, didn't leave a lasting impression. Would need to listen to again

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Oct 13 2023

Loved it. Will be listening to again. Hear similarities with the Beastie Boys.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Oct 14 2023

Not a big fan of autotune/modern rap. Enjoyed the songs with Jay-z. Enough on there for me to return to 2-3 songs.

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Oct 15 2023

Surprisingly caught me off guard - enjoyed it more it went on- melodic, trance-like music. Decent as background Music or with noise cancelling headphones

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Oct 16 2023

Have to give this a 3 for originality at least. Didnt know what to make of it- various styles, unique voice.

The Band by The Band
Oct 17 2023

Generic Americana. Pleasant listening, won't blow you away

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Oct 18 2023

Vibrato, melodic songs with a underlying message. Found the vocalist a little grating, not something I would return to

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Oct 19 2023

3.5 stars - enjoyed the instrumental Woodpeckers from Mars/Black Sabbath cover the most. Vocalist can be grating at times- like the vocalist from Smashing Pumpkins

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Oct 20 2023

Enjoyed this one- nice surprise, only heard of Our House previously. Liked the soul/ska elements - upbeat and funky.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Oct 21 2023

Not my chosen genre, but I can appreciate the talent on show here, exceptional voice. Sunday morning/easy listening music.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Oct 22 2023

Psychedelic, background music. Dragged on, not a big fan.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Oct 23 2023

melodic and atmospheric- but it didn't grab me and unlikely to listen to again

1984 by Van Halen
Oct 24 2023

Quiete generic 80s rock, but I liked it 3.5/10
