1001 Albums Summary

This was a wild ride. Great music. Different than expected. First half was much better. Great first album.

Interesting. I liked one it more in beginning. Too far out there for me. Little too slow too. Weird music man. Bugs and shit. lol. Could barely listen to it tbh. But not awful.

Did not enjoy other than their famous song.

Not my style of music. This is the equivalent of elevator music for whatever genre this is. I was quite unenthused. Next.

This one is a high 3. Why isn’t the scale out of ten you may ask? Good fucking question. It’s not inherently my cup of tea, however, it grew on me. It was clear that cocaine was an inspiration on half of these tracks. I appreciate the variety, which i did not at first. Overall solid album. Will keep some tracks around.

Finally! A true5 for moi. Jay-z shows his range and vision. One of the greats with an undeniably great album.

Another listener walked so that I can run: “ Look, I'll be the first to admit that I probably just don't "get" this. But the plain fact was this was painful to listen to. It's repetitive noise. You would have to be just REALLY into conga drums to love this album. There's a 6 minute track that's NOTHING BUT CONGAS. And the next one is a 4 minute track of MOSTLY congas broken up by random yells and loud samba whistles. On the tracks where there ARE vocals, they're off-key shrieks accompanied by extraordinarily shrill "harmonies" (if you can call them that). It's. The. WORST. Hands down. Listening to this album makes me angry.” If you have made it this far, i actually enjoyed two songs as added them.

One decent song. Otherwise: i can’t get into this type of rap. Just not good music imo. He’s just an angry man yelling into the mic. Don’t like this shit at all.
