1001 Albums Summary

Thought this was a fine album. When I listen to music lyricism comes second to composition so thats why I gave this album a 2. There are a few standout tracks, but overall the songs are very repetitive in their style * Tangled up in blue - meh kind of long, a little too repetitive * Simple Twist of Fate - liked, simple yet sweet * Youre a big girl now - nice very sweet - little similar to the track before Album has a very uniform style, but it is getting a little tedious * Idiot Wind - not super distinct from prev two songs. very easy listening * You’re gonna make me lonesome - a little distinct, kind of meh * Meet Me in the Morning - blues track, like it * Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts - jaunty, upbeat story is kind of fun * If You See her, Say Hello - meh

Great compositions here. Sufjan made some great smooth melodies while still including a lot of depth. Loved the use of a small choir

Not really my bag. There are some great songs on hear, but most of these songs felt twice as long as they should be

Very interesting album to listen to. Love the blend of classic rock, blues and even some punk rock here. This is quintessential indie rock and I am 100% here for it

Pretty good overall. There are a lot of similar sounding songs, but a few standouts that make this a great album. Also Janis Joplin's voice is gorgeous and I love her energetic delivery

Super chill. Was a little bored at times, but even though the tracks are chill a lot of them are very interesting compositions.

Was only able to listen to half of the album because Spotify doesn't have it. Thought it was fine. Anita has some great performances, but the songwriting seemed a little lacking

Pretty middling on the whole. Has some pretty good standout songs with great composition, but lots of pretty basic stuff as well

Not really my taste

Love the sound. Especially the complicated rhythms and melodies in songs like Eraser and Mr. Self Destruct.

There are a few brilliant tracks here, but there were also a couple that I couldn't wait for it to be over

Overall I was surprised by a few tracks, but as I suspected, most tracks were boring pop songs ...Baby One more time - banger (You Drive me) Crazy - meh (did not enjoy the weird cowbell or the melodies Sometimes - solid ballad Soda pop - Kind of a bop, but not something I'd want to listen to more than once Born to Make you happy - meh From the Bottom of my broken Heart - similar vibes to Sometimes but much better I will be there - pretty basic, not great I will still love you - meh Deep in my heart - kinda fun, still pretty basic Thinkin about you - repetitive but okay E-mail my heart - meh The beat goes on - fun beat, subpar singing I'll never stop leaving you - meh Autumn Goodbye - okay

There are a couple of amazing tracks on here, but the rest are underwhelming
