Graceland by Paul Simon
Oct 20 2023

It is one of the most feel-good albums I’ve ever listened to. Loved it! Lyrically intriguing and musically otherworldly, he puts you in a place you’ve never quite been before but somehow feels commonplace and rather familiar. Excited to listen again. I think I had heard 3 of the songs, of course the smash hit Call Me Al, and I feel like I’ve heard Boy In the Bubble too. Homeless as well. Great record! Onto the next!

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Oct 21 2023

A power house of political rock, with single note progressions and hard hitting rhythms. The OG of GOOD rap metal, with a straight out of protest vibe. Love this record, glad I got a chance to listen to it again

Harvest by Neil Young
Oct 22 2023

Exceptional listen. I own it on vinyl, happy I was able to revisit. Also great driving music. Orchestral, beautiful folk.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Oct 23 2023

Fantastic record that I wish I had discovered sooner. Keith Jarrett creates an atmospheric sound with just keys, and adds in little yelps when getting excited about the sounds and the feels. Part II B was my favorite. Found a groove that is unmatched by many pianists out today. Would love to own this on vinyl.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Oct 24 2023

Wow. The most personal I’ve heard Johnny Cash. I guess maybe I’ve never listened to this in full, but his banter between his mumbling jokes about needing a drink or getting his dope are very unhinged. Love hearing him just go right into songs and telling stories. Not the best live record but fun to listen to in a car. Not something I’d want to put on at home often. This is a well known version of Boy Named Sue, which I had definitely heard this version before.

I’d love this on vinyl

Boston by Boston

Guitar and male vocal driven album with a few classic hits but overall not a fan of the vocal style for everyday listening
