Dirt
Alice In ChainsThis is an album of music for sure. Middle of the ground for me honestly, didn’t really get into it
This is an album of music for sure. Middle of the ground for me honestly, didn’t really get into it
Album was very good Cool to see the influence this has on Kendrick and Donald Glover stuff. Worth coming back to for production inspiration. Solo in maggot brain was crazy. Fried is cream is a reality
This guy sounds old but looks young. Don’t really like his voice. I think if he had a different voice I would like it more. Arrangement and instrumentation is all great. I liked something in the night and prove it all night the most
Just want to say for the last Bruce Springsteen album the song “Darkness On the Edge of Town” was a banger. This was the first time I thought his voice worked. Drumming was great. I even added it to my liked songs 😳 I couldn’t go back to edit my review :( This album was great. I was a big fan of the mix of acoustic and electric guitar. Good golly miss molly was a banger. Singers voice was really unique and definitely fit the style. I would get this on vinyl.
Some classic jazz. Cool to see them use different time signatures and just step on every other jazz album at the time. They took a risk on that and made an absolute classic. Take five is a classic. Some nice light sounding arrangement and very nice sax sounds.
Crosstown traffic guitar riffs are dope Album overall was cool. If I’m in the mood for some blues scales this is definitely the place to go. A lot of guitar solos and blues riffs. Some nice working music, but nothing I would be hyped about putting on
Almost all songs on this album could stand alone. The stranger was surprising with the funk bass. The guitar mixing on Just the Way You Are is mad crispy and warm. I’m used to hearing these through Dean singing them in the apartment, but it’s nice to hear the original source. Always a woman was probably my favorite. Overall great listen. I’d get this on vinyl. Great album
Pretty mid, didn’t like the voice. Sounds like a band Coldplay was inspired by but ended up doing everything better. Interesting concepts I guess
Nuclear family music that none of my ancestors have listened to Background singers sound like Mickey Mouse in those vintage cartoons Very okay for todays standard but I see how some young female teens could have viewed Buddy Holly as their Justin Bieber back in the day, and felt rebellious listening to him since his music had some very provocative rhythms that were more intense than the easy listening stuff they had
Loving how the musical themes and production tell the story also. In “Stop Dem” when the vocal singing melody tries to come in but gets cut off showing how they thought it was over but it wasn’t. Synth on eternal life was crazy good. Saved that one. Rhythm on monsters was sweet. Also saved that one Very versatile and different, some songs were great some were eh
The rhythms, the grooves, everything that was going on was right. Chameleon is a classic jam song. The consistent bass line and building makes it great for that. Watermelon man was also great. I hadn’t heard that before. Would buy on vinyl
The album was okay. It sounds like something in an 80s high school prom rom com movie. Not a big fan of the voice. The album had pretty consistent instrumentation. A couple songs were good like Charlotte Street.
This album was on the border of being too experimental but it wasn’t. She uses her voice in an interesting way where it’s almost too valley girl, but she uses the sounds of words in a cool way. Could definitely hear the creative guidance of a beat machine in how she uses different beats and rhythms on songs. Very diverse throughout the whole album. Thought bingo was cool in how it’s not singing or rapping. Also heard a lot of the 2000s beats in a more primitive way. I wonder if it was alluding to that, or if this served as inspiration for artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Timbaland, etc.
Album started out with a classic. She has a great voice and can hit some heavy notes. Interesting to hear the theme of woman empowerment during a time where women were more oppressed than today. Nice lil collection of tunes. Would listen to this album again.
The sounds that happen when the guys screams is cool and they’re all different 3:50 on fun house, wow I guess also 5:50 2-3 min on L.A. Blues bro Weird sounds but see how it’s internal to punk rock
Nice sprinkle of domestic violence in the third track And bro followed up with his promise on the buenas noches song saying he shot her Bass is a little to simple and boring for me… You know what.. this is Margaritaville music Crazy, I Shazammed one of these songs a couple weeks ago. I thought the mix of traditional Mexican music and traditional American country music was interesting. Cool to see that all the other songs on the album are boring af Something I would hear at the country fair while eating a funnel cake and feeling nauseous from the rides. Or also when at some random dinner place in Tybee island with some guy playing this on the guitar under a gazebo with a drum track playing.
Big fan of the guitar layers and how her vocal sounds on top of it. Sounds influential to artists like Lizzie McAlpine I get the appeal of no drums, but this would be great cover song music with some drums added
I can see some modern influence from this. Tenacious D definitely has some vocal similarities to this.
