I do not know what to think about this album. At first I thought it was going to be a Soul record when I heard the song I Love Your Lovin' Ways. Then it slowly takes you in a totally different direction. Wild is the Wind truly showed the depth and range of voice that Nina Simone had. It went from a soul record to a jazz record within a few songs . I am glad that I took the time to listen to this album. I was always under the impression that Wild Is the Wind was a song that was not only performed by Bowie but was written by him too.

I listened to this album this morning (April 17, 2024) while I was reading my email. It brought me peace and energy to start what I know will be my busy day. I did not understand what they were singing but as I've said before, music has a way to calm and soothe the savage beast. Shaka Zulu did just that it calmed me and soothed me.

It is just one of those weird things and if you can get over the fact that the singer cannot sing then you would like this album. But if you actually like your singers to actually be in tune and know how to sing this album will be like nails on a chalk board. It reminded me of Frank Zappa. But Frank Zappa could carry a tune and actually sing. Not sure if I can go through and listening to this artist other albums.

The music you find on Youssou N'Dour album Immigrés makes the person who is listening get up and move.
