Popular Reviews

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith

I can’t separate the music from the artist for this one, especially when Perry is singing about schoolgirls while he is literally sexually abusing a teen in real life

Nevermind by Nirvana

I love this even when there’s sun outside, meaning it’s not just for angsty moody days

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós

Used to listen to this to fall asleep, I mean that in the best way

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Dec 15 2023

I fucking love this album. I went through a huge NIN faze in my teens. I can’t listen to it often, as it can take me into a dark headspace. Also glad that Trent Reznor dealt with his demons and seems like a happier guy now

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Dec 19 2023

Surprised to say I didn’t like this. Turns out I only like Grizzly Bear in tiny amounts, otherwise all the songs blend together.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Dec 21 2023

Gave me flashbacks to all the commercials that used these songs. Enjoyable listen, but because the songs are pretty simple in terms of construction, they all sound pretty similar to me. Standouts: Never Gonna Give You Up, Everlasting Light

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
Dec 22 2023

Such a weird concept album. Lots of fun, as long as I can look past the casual misogyny of the times. Highlight: Underwater Rhymes

Dookie by Green Day
Dec 27 2023

This album still slaps. Billy Joel sounds like he’s been punched in the face and is singing with a bloody nose. Tré Cool destroys on drums. I still prefer Insomniac tbh

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Dec 28 2023

I had a bit of fun with dancing towards the middle (and, of course, Come On Eileen), but overall I can’t get past how much I dislike the singer’s voice

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Dec 29 2023

I can’t separate the music from the artist for this one, especially when Perry is singing about schoolgirls while he is literally sexually abusing a teen in real life

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jan 01 2024

Way more theatrical than expected

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 02 2024

Gospel music that I can vibe with

One World by John Martyn
Jan 03 2024

Who gave Drunk Uncle a record deal?

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jan 05 2024

Don’t like his voice. Not then, not now

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jan 08 2024

The template for angsty young woman rock, at least for me

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Jan 12 2024

I liked the noisier, heavier songs, but the vocals and lyrics brought this down for me.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jan 16 2024

I had a Radiohead bumper sticker on my first car. In part to Thom Yorker’s great dancing, I can never rate them below a 4

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Jan 17 2024

I liked the beats (sucker for trip hop), but even that couldn’t redeem this album. Far too many uses of “rectum” 🤮

Berlin by Lou Reed
Jan 18 2024

Lou Reed really can’t sing

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Jan 19 2024

I know they are very influential, but I was honestly kinda bored? Only song that really caught my interest was S.O.36

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jan 22 2024

Some highlights- Sympathy for the Devil, Street Fighting Man. Rest was meh. Stray Cat Blues is gross.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Jan 23 2024

What a bright note for a dreary, rainy day 🕺

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Jan 24 2024

This sounds like a parody of hip hop. No thanks

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jan 25 2024

Janis is Queen

Blur by Blur
Jan 30 2024

Got bored after Song 2

Odelay by Beck
Feb 08 2024

Nonsense lyrics, but a fun album

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 09 2024

Knew this was going to be a slog, only made it through the first couple songs

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Feb 12 2024

Complicated rating, because he basically whitewashed Black music. Also, Elvis cannot sing in a higher register. But it’s still a very nostalgic album for me.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Feb 14 2024

Well that was nice. Transported me back to a Starbucks in early 2000s

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Feb 15 2024

Fun background noise

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 19 2024

Meh. I can do one or two REM songs, but not a whole album

Make Yourself by Incubus
Feb 23 2024

Incubus is one of the more palatable nu-metal bands for me, but could not do a whole album. It just sounds all the same

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Feb 28 2024

Makes me wish I was a stoner again

Arrival by ABBA
Mar 12 2024

There are ABBA bangers, and weird ABBA. This has both.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Mar 15 2024

What an uneven album. Also, “White Reggae”?!

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Mar 18 2024

Less depressing than I thought it would be. Sounds like a more modern one-man Beatles

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Mar 22 2024

Didn’t finish. I think drugs are needed to enjoy this

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Apr 03 2024

I feel like I would have gotten more out of this if I was reading the lyrics alongside listening

Nevermind by Nirvana
Apr 09 2024

I love this even when there’s sun outside, meaning it’s not just for angsty moody days

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
May 13 2024

Used to listen to this to fall asleep, I mean that in the best way
