1001 Albums Summary

Pretty chill blues. I can see how this could have been a big deal back in 1963. Also jazzy, but still mellow all the way through.

Yep, no woman no cry would definitely have made a big impact, although the version in this one is considerably faster than the one that ended up sticking around. I think that other (slower) one is a live version? Other than that, 4 songs in and all sounds pretty classic Marley. Yep, overall about what I expected going in. Nothing shocking, but reggae has never been my thing unless I'm specifically in the mood for it. 3/5

2 songs in: Digging this way more than the 1 or 2 qotsa songs that are always on the radio. Really do NOT like the repeated riff throughout 80% of “You Would Know”, but the ending of it was pretty good and catchy. I like The Bronze too. Mexicola is solid, but goes on too long. Can’t quit me baby is excellent.

Unfortunately, I still don't "get" David Bowie :/ I wish I did. 2/5

Exhuming McCarthy is a catchy one I’ve never heard before. Ah, this album has End Of The World and The One I Love on it. Yep, those are pretty iconic. I'm completely sick of them, but this album makes sense to me. Definitely enjoying all the rest of their songs on here that never became hits. 3/5

A bit too weird and avant garde for my tastes brooke would probably love it. Nothing wrong with it per se, but I can't ever imagine myself relistening to this for fun so probably 2/5

Totally digging this one! Brand new to me too. As far as 80s albums go, which I tend not to like, I’mfinding this one to be very enjoyable. Very solid entry in a genre I don’t really like… I guess that probably comes out to a 4/5 then.

This is the quintessential Creedence album for me. 5/5

I liked guest list. Not sure why this was influential… maybe the social commentary? Spunky is very depressing. Too depressing for me to ever go out of my way to listen to again.

Very beautiful music. Not something I really ever see myself wanting to listen to more, but so far I'm surprised by the variety of the songs despite simultaneously all sounding exactly the same. Not my cup of tea, but I can respect it. 3/5.

I mean. I can absolutely understand why he was a big deal. This isn't really my favorite genre either and there were several songs I strongly disliked, but there were some undeniably solid tracks as well. 3/5
