Billy Corgan's vocal style gets a little old after a while for me. Lots of really great guitar tones all over the record. Impressive how many big hits are on this record. Geek USA and Mayonaise were highlights I had not heard before. They definitely have their own sound. Solid listen overall.
Overall very bland feeling. Pure Heroine has much more interesting production, and a more distinct style/sound. Melodrama feels so much more like generic pop. Liability is ok.
It's a classic. Great southern rock sound, gets into some good grooves, the slower songs are well carried by the vocals and melodic guitar licks. Tuesday's Gone and Simple Man are really great songs. What more could even be said about Free Bird at this point?
Excellent album, so many memorable songs. Great performances from all of the musicians. A great short & sweet record.
Love all things Jack White and love this album. Really diverse set of songs, ranging from a more garage rock sound that we know and love from The White Stripes to more country inspired tracks. Lots of really catchy melodies all over the record. I think I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 so that I have room for higher ratings on my more preferred Jack White projects/albums
It was fine, just not really my thing. Nothing really stood out to me as bad or really won me over though
One of my favorite albums of all time, one of Neil Young's best. Every track on here is great.
I can't do it. I know this kind of music has it's fans, but this is just not for me. I'm not really sure why you would listen to this outside of just having it on in the background or at a dance club. I listened to the first 7 tracks. Each track started and I'd think "ok, this is a cool groove, there's some cool samples and sounds and things going on." and then it would repeat over and over and over for 4+ minutes, without enough being introduced or changing throughout the song to keep it interesting. Brown Paper Bag is over 9 minutes long and it's more or less the same thing through the whole song. Oh, and there's 24 tracks on this thing for some reason. 7 was more than enough. No thanks.
It was alright, there were some cool moments, nothing I could say was objectively bad really. Just overall didn't connect with me.
Really solid album, great beats, great flow, I like the darker edge to the production. Maybe a couple tracks that didn't hook me in as much, but I could see myself revisiting this one for sure.
This is kind of a weird one for me to rate. Will I ever listen to it again? Probably not, it's just not for me. I was definitely impressed by some of the musicianship on this record though. They can definitely play their instruments well, and the record has some cool moments on it and some great arrangements. For that, I'll give it an above average score.
Such a great album. Has a great mood/atmosphere to it, great catchy songs. Nothing to complain about here.
Really beautiful album. Love the mostly simple arrangements and instrumentation, really allows the melodies and beautiful playing to shine. First Willie Nelson album I've listened to all the way through, definitely gonna check out some others now.
Haunting, melancholy, personal, beautiful. Nick Cave is one of my favorite artists, and this is one of my favorite albums of his.
