Black Holes and Revelations
MuseFun album, the one that comes after is better, but this one really shows off what this band would become known for. 8.2/10

Before Kanye lost his damn mind, he was one of the most creative and innovative rappers/producers out there. To say this one changed the game would be a huge disservice. He created a genre with this one. And it is a shame he isn't doing it anymore, because this was an amazing debut. 9.2/10
The last of the truly great Elton records. Most, if not all, of his 80s stuff is pretty unlistenable. Here he was at the peak and has never duplicated that success. While the two subsequent 70s albums are also good, they get nowhere near this one. He never really recovered after that. But at least we have this one, which is pretty incredible. 9.1/10
This one is a bonafide classic. No one has ever done it like the Ramones before of since. This is 100% one you need to here before you die, without question. 10/10
I'll admit I am not as familiar with this as I should be, but it is one of those classic albums of it's era that holds up very well today. In my opinion it was always clear Neil Young was the star and he proved it when he went out on his own. The others to have some real gems in their discography, but Young has the most consistent ones. Either way, this is great 60s rock. 8.3/10
For a debut album. they don't get much more perfect. There are three talented musicians and a front man who isn't musical, but man does he command your attention. Everything after this never really, in my opinion, rises to the same level. What a ride this one is though. 9.7/10
This one...wow it is a moment in time that was really incredible when it came out, but hasn't really held up past that. This is a product of it's time with some hits. I have the original pressing which has track most of never heard before. However, despite this commentary, it isn't awful and is very well produced. But there are better albums after this. 7.3/10
First time I had ever heard of this band was from the show "Rubicon" on AMC. The song "On A Rope" was played in the show and it captured me right away. Much like that song, the entire album is up to that level. I'd argue they never really got any higher, but what a ride this one was. 8.8/10
This is a solid record from a band that had been doing things a certain way for a while. It is hard to argue against this being the peak, but everything prior had been leading to it. It is masterfully produced and well executed. 8/8/10
While not my favorite of theirs, it is clear where they are going and what is to come from this band. Things are a little more raw and unpolished, but the band knows what they are doing. Pretty big debut from these superstars of rock. 8.7/10
I am not as familiar with this one as I am others, but it certainly packs a punch. It is easy to see why they became the superstars they would be years later. A solid intro to a solid band. 8.8/10
This one is a masterpiece from start to finish. There is not a bad song on it and no matter how many times I have heard "Stairway To Heaven" it hits me the same way each and every time as it did the first time. Truly one of the greatest ever. 9.8/10
While not my favorite from the Trio, this is an excellent example of what they could do. Evans for so long had been a sideman and this was his coming out party, so to speak. Jazz heads and those interesting in great music should be on this one! 9.7/10
While not my favorite from him (Harvest, which is a 10/10) this is Young at his finest and most dial-ed in at the early part of his solo career. I find a lot of his early-mid career work to be uneven, but there are many gems throughout that span and this is one of them. Also a great primer for his material 9.4/10
This was not my first taste of Adamson, but wow is this one incredible. He mixes so many different styles on this one. There is a DJ Shadow like quality to this, only more in the "art rock" vein. Not his best, but an excellent part of his catalog 9.1/10
Boy did this one come out of nowhere. The first time I heard it, I was floored. I had never heard anything that was amazingly melodic, danceable but also sort of dangerous. It had all of the best parts of rock n roll, with all the danger of early punk rock. Sadly, many only know the one hit, but man does this one pack a wallop. They are still making excellent records which is incredible. Hell of a debut 9.3/10
One of the earliest grunge records I had heard that really blew me away. I was never a fan of Nirvana or Pearl Jam that much, but this resonated with me. The band was shortlived, but when they did make was fantastic. 9.4/10
Not much to be said about this one...I mean everyone loves it for a reason. While I do prefer other albums, this is the one that is the most consistent. 9.5/10
Another stunning debut album from a band that had a little bit of everything and sounded fresh even back then. This one still holds up. 9.2/10
This is what East Coast hip-hop is all about. It has been 30 years since it's release and boy does this one stand up to the best of the best. Amazing that this was his debut. He has had excellent albums after, but this one is near the top. 9.7/10
This was probably the first Black Flag I heard way back when. Rollins is the superior singer to Morris and it shows on this recording. It is easy to see why this one has been labeled as a classic. 8.9/10
This was one that took me a while to "get" so to speak. But you can hear the sexual tension between the two leads and how it shaped this masterful album. Fantastic from end to end. 9.6/10
Not much to be said, the best album from the only band that mattered. Enough said. 9.7/10
This is by far my favorite Willie album. It is so well done and a perfect sound for him to evolve to. It is a must for any country fan. 9.5/10
