Psychedelic rock at its best. Today is underrated
Bowie should not be allowed to cover Lennon. I like Bowie but this album just wasn’t it for me. Fame is a classic but it wasn’t enough to save this one
Biased Opinion: I love the monkees. The 1960s and Americas attempt at the Beatles and surprisingly it worked. A group lost to time, the Monkees have always captured my love for their music and hilarious antics. 🥇You Told Me 🥈No Time 🥉Mr. Webster HM: Shades of Gray
ABBA is a decent band, one that encapsulates the disco era of the 1970s. So for as much as I enjoy some of their music, unfortunately their sound never progressed enough to warrant them as one of the greats imo. This album just wasn’t the one to do that. 🥇Fernando 🥈Dancing Queen 🥉 Why did it have to be me? HM: Knowing Me, Knowing you
Sorry Zachary, this wasn’t for me. Similar to Daft Punk this group captures that synthwave dream like sound but the basic beats and lack of flair just didn’t draw me in. I don’t think a gummy would have changed my opinion. 🥇Talisman 🥈New Star in the Sky 🥉 Sexy Boy
An example of the psychedelic and experimental rock variety, Radiohead’s album “In Rainbows” catches my ear but not enough to hold itself. 🥇House of Cards 🥈Jigsaw Falling Into Place 🥉 Video Tape HM: Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi
Growing up, seeing the album cover of this made me think I was getting was Black Sabbath was but instead what I got was Jefferson Starship. 🥇Paradise By the Dashboard 🥈 Bat out of Hell 🥉You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth
At the height of the British Invasion, the age old debate The Beatles or The Rolling Stones was under full effect. This leaving The Rolling Stones to possibly be the greatest rock band to ever grace the stage. Perfectly capturing the sound and rhythm of American Blues music, the Stones, come out strong in their 1964 Debut Album. 🥇Route 66 🥈Mona (I need you baby) 🥉Little By Little HM: Carol
An album full of punk and punk versions of some of my favorite songs. Idk man, just wasn’t for me
Don McLean is known for one song (okay maybe 2) and you know what? That’s okay. American Pie will forever be cemented as one of the greatest ballads ever written and I’m sure that the 3 holy ghosts would agree. Its legacy is universal. I remember being in South Africa and even there people were singing along with our drunken voices. Besides that, this album is criminally overshadowed by its title song. So many great hits in this. 🥇American Pie 🥈Vincent 🥉Winterwood HM: Everybody Loves Me, Baby
“Don’t do drugs” One of the hardest intros to an album and blends perfectly into the iconic opening track “My name is”. Eminem is undeniably one of the greats and this album shows that. 🥇Role Model 🥈My Name Is 🥉Still don’t give a F**k HM: Rock Bottom
Dusty’s voice 10/10, could listen to her voice all day. Perfect balance of folk, love ballads, rock and Jazz. 🥇Son of a Preacher Man 🥈The Windmills of your Mind 🥉I can’t Make it Alone HM: In the Land of Make Believe
Talking Heads did it better. Every song on this album sounds the same. No point in even ranking them.
Dollar store Metallica. I mean the music isn’t bad but the lyrics and vocals just don’t work for me. 🥇Peace Sells 🥈The Conjuring 🥉Good Mourning
For the two members who care about my review… An amazing album in the dance/ synth category. Almost experimental at times, Talking Heads blend several genres into their own style such as the country twang guitar on the solo in “Artist Only”, “Stay Hungry” or “Big Country”. Loved this one. I have no clue how people prefer this version of “take me to the river” over Al Green’s. 🥇Thank you for Sending Me an Angel 🥈Artists Only 🥉Stay Hungry HM: The Good Thing
Is this the Beatles best work? Depends on what you define that as cause honestly this album is more of a compilation of their perfection. Like their earlier albums saw a lot of progression and experimentation with sounds but they weren’t always the most polished. Like the white album is so close but it’s raw in nature which really grabs you. Abbey is like perfect. So it may be that perfection that holds it back cause we get what we want rather than that craving for more. It’s also very much Paul Stylized (which he is known for having that perfection sounding album) that really defines this one. There is no bad song on this one and although some might disagree, this is my favorite Beatles record. So hard to rank. 🥇Something 🥈I want you 🥉Golden Slumbers HM: Octopus Garden
Fats is one of the forgotten greats of rock and roll. A remnant of the past who if you asked a child today wouldn’t know but his influence is def there. 🥇Blueberry Hill 🥈You done me wrong 🥉 Ain’t that a shame
