Psychedelic rock at its best. Today is underrated

Bowie should not be allowed to cover Lennon. I like Bowie but this album just wasn’t it for me. Fame is a classic but it wasn’t enough to save this one

At the height of the British Invasion, the age old debate The Beatles or The Rolling Stones was under full effect. This leaving The Rolling Stones to possibly be the greatest rock band to ever grace the stage. An album full of punk and punk versions of some of my favorite songs. Idk man, just wasn’t for me

Don McLean is known for one song (okay maybe 2) and you know what? That’s okay. American Pie will forever be cemented as one of the greatest ballads ever written and I’m sure that the 3 holy ghosts would agree. Its legacy is universal. I remember being in South Africa and even there people were singing along with our drunken voices. Besides that, this album is criminally overshadowed by its title song. “Don’t do drugs” One of the hardest intros to an album and blends perfectly into the iconic opening track “My name is”. Eminem is undeniably one of the greats and this album shows that. 🥇Role Model 🥈My Name Is 🥉Still don’t give a F**k HM: Rock Bottom

Dusty’s voice 10/10, could listen to her voice all day. Perfect balance of folk, love ballads, rock and Jazz. 🥇Son of a Preacher Man 🥈The Windmills of your Mind 🥉I can’t Make it Alone HM: In the Land of Make Believe

Talking Heads did it better. Every song on this album sounds the same. No point in even ranking them.

For the two members who care about my review… An amazing album in the dance/ synth category. Almost experimental at times, Talking Heads blend several genres into their own style such as the country twang guitar on the solo in “Artist Only”, “Stay Hungry” or “Big Country”. Loved this one. Is this the Beatles best work? Depends on what you define that as cause honestly this album is more of a compilation of their perfection. Like their earlier albums saw a lot of progression and experimentation with sounds but they weren’t always the most polished. Like the white album is so close but it’s raw in nature which really grabs you. Abbey is like perfect. So it may be that perfection that holds it back cause we get what we want rather than that craving for more. It’s also very much Paul Stylized (which he is known for having that perfection sounding album) that really defines this one. There is no bad song on this one and although some might disagree, this is my favorite Beatles record. So hard to rank. 🥇Something 🥈I want you 🥉Golden Slumbers HM: Octopus Garden
