Who Killed...... The Zutons?
The ZutonsNice. Not as jangly indie as I had them down as. Some really good moments anppeals to a similar part of me as The Heavy. Also really liked Moons and Horror shows. The bass sound is excellent too.

Incredible. I've listened to lots of Tom Waits but this one was a new one for me. Not as weird or as cinematic as lots of his other music. Love the kind of live, talking to the crowd vibe - matched with, as ever, his insanely good, imagery-laden lyrics.
Why would you care about the Beatles when this was happening? Noel Redding song a surprise banger.
Very hippie indian vibes - Super cool but possibly wasn’t in the mood.
Still not really my thing as with rock and roll generally - undeniably classic but not my thing. Really cool drums and hard hitting drum sound - more that I would have expected. Anyone who worries about cancel culture needs to learn the lesson that you can marry your 13 year old cousin and still have a public musical career ahead of you (at least in the 50s-60s).
Way cooler than ironic would have you believe - I think I'd probably have had a different opinion of her work if it'd been sold as a bit more on the grunge side rather than being on the singer songwriter. Sexist marketing much?
New one for me. Not as sad or tragic as his reputaion would have you believe.
very much the beatles
So good - I still feel like Nick Drake is at his best on less heavily arranged/produced tracks - not sure I like this album more than Pink Moon but it's great.
So good - not my favourite of their records but excellent. Ny batteri super angular and lo-fi to full ethereal. Like being drowned in a fjord a a pagan sacrifice then dried out by the fire and being given marshmallows while someone pats your head.
Very varied - much more classic rock and roll than I thought. At its best a cool Led Zep vibe but quite inconsistent for me and feels very lightweight.
Fuck yeah. One of the best albums full stop. From brimming with hiphop confidence to thoughtful and reflective to taking the piss. Amazingly characterful flows with distinct styles. Production is incredible and the blending of the samples works to bring it together into a really cohesive album. The drums go so hard and really haven’t aged. Standout track - Da Mystery Of Chessboxing
Jailbait - it's as problematic as it sounds, probably more. Ace of Spades is pretty much the standout but Fast and Loose adds some variety with blues-y rockiness, almost Clutch-esque

Similar to a lot of muse albums (imo) it’s at its best when doing cool riffs and synth-y space rock and at its worst when the toned down love songs that really need another layer of metaphor come out. Fave: Knights of Cydonia
I've always been meaning to listen to Fela Kuti properly. Really cool. Not as jazzy and more afrobeaty than other stuff I've heard.
Actually don’t know much of The Doors. Cool, not as weird and psyche-y as I expected. Much more bluesy
The dog dies :( Also apparently he kicked the dog because the dog was bad. Apart from that pretty fun. Even made me a bit nostalgic for a North American country past I never had. Anemoia?

Really cool. Drums are so good! Also is Tommy the Cat a pastiche of Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed? Discuss.
So weird and so excellent. Love it
