I don't normally like live albums but this is something special. The way the crowd screams is almost incorporated into the songs. It sounds like it's own instrument that James Brown uses. I like how this feels like I am a fly at the wall of a very special performance. I love the horn section. I love Brown's vocals that always feel as though they are reaching directly out the listener. The Instrumental Bridges are really cool with how they attempt to go from one song to another and each feels like they stick the landing

Graceland by Paul Simon

I like the African influences on songs like Homeless. The accordian is oddly pleasant. Overall, I did really like this album.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Apr 16 2024

It's a good blues sound, I do like the harmonica on it. I don't super dig the country blues style but I do like several tracks. The vibraphone on Monkey Man is great. The ending being You Can't Always Get What You Want is good. It is trying to be a big climatic song to end the album and I think it achieves it. I did not like the choir at the beginning of the track though. Overall, blues and gospel sound good just not really my thing

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Apr 17 2024

I love Fiona's voice, the instruments are all really cool sounds. I especially like the piano/guitar on tracks like Criminal and Carrion. It's hard not to compare this album to Bjork's work around this time and while the similarity is there with the arrangements but where they differ is how the vocals is treated. I do like Fiona's more gentle voice on the more subdued tracks on this album versus if the tracks were more aggressive. I think the grooves that are created in tracks like Shadowboxer are really good

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 19 2024

This album feels too long, there are several songs that I think could have been cut shorter/removed. It also doesn't help that I only like the Red Hot Chili Peppers' hits. The sound overall is fine, its going for a rap/funk rock. Most of the time I just dislike how the main vocalist sounds on tracks like If You Have To Ask. I prefer the softer less heavy tracks like I Could Have Lied, Breaking the Girl, and Under the Bridge

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Apr 20 2024

I feel as though I'm familiar with all the tools that the Talking Heads use to construct all of the music. For example I can hear the rock and disco influences that they have. The singer's voice gets on the border of what is annoying and what is stylistically fine. Overall, I find the album fine.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Apr 21 2024

I love the instruments from the spacious guitar licks on Don't Forget About Me to the orchestra sounds on I Don't Want to Hear It Anymore. I enjoy Dusty's voice, there is something that feels really nice hearing it. I think everything comes together to make a really good album.

My Generation by The Who
Apr 23 2024

Overall, I think this album is fine, not much stands out outside of My Generation being the obvious hit

Apr 24 2024

It’s good, nothing stands out other than this is where Queen defined their sound

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Apr 25 2024

Good, it’s cool to see this take on punk

Graceland by Paul Simon
Apr 26 2024

I like the African influences on songs like Homeless. The accordian is oddly pleasant. Overall, I did really like this album.

Another Green World by Brian Eno
May 03 2024

I love the use of vocals, their limited use really makes them stick out and it was a cool effect

1984 by Van Halen
May 04 2024

I liked the vocals and the guitars quite a bit. I think the intro going from a motorcycle into a floor tom fill on Hot for Teacher is really cool
