Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Arctic MonkeysNot a good as I remembered, with more weak tunes than their later albums.

I liked the piano and brushed drums, but a lot of the trumpet just wasn't for me. Perhaps if I hung out jazz bars in the 50s....
Good but uninspiring.
Some excellent Jazz beats.
A good album, but I've always preferred Daydream Nation.
Other than the obvious big hit, which clearly stand apart, the rest almost seems like filler.
Just not for me, despite its historical significance. Just sounds like an old movie to me.
I liked this much more than I thought I would. I think perhaps I've matured into the sound.
More theatrical/musical than rock to me ear, and not really my kind of sound.
Bluesy hip-hop; on paper something I'd would like. But I just didn't get into this. Just seemed a bit lazily underwhelming to me.
A good example of the Trip-Hop / Broken-beat style with slightly more pop feel, though not favourite, it's ok background music.
He might be legendary story teller, but the music itself just nothing for me. 🤷
No, just no! :-)
G-Funk was just never my thing. Gangsta rap, old-school hip-hop, etc are all much better.
How have I not heard this album before; or even heard of this band? Enjoyed on first listen, and on second found it even more interesting.
Despite it's age this album still sounded remarkable fresh and modern to me. A great combination of Low-fi and Electronic!
I think I prefer Back to Black as a whole album, but this still v.good with exceptional vocals.
A great concept album! Love the combination of sci-fi theme and funky beats and even occasional rock like tones.
Almost seems the very definition of a classic folk album to me, against which almost every other the folk lyric is measured.
hmmm.... some kind of weird combination of sounding like sound track for Austin Powers and sickly kids easy-listen remix of an album. Not really thing at all.
Yawn...
Fuck Yeah! Every track is a bomb track! Genre defining.
How would I describe this... psychedelic electro rock. Either way, I like it!
Been quite a few years since I've last listen to this; strangely I found myself knowing most of the lyrics. A classic from my teenage years.
