The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy

Not ahead of its time - the dominator of its genre and era. Albums mixing is world class, and the pacing is a masterclass in how to keep you hooked and hyper with a breather or two when needed. Just when you think it might be in 8 out of 10 as narayan (not a filler song, but not a star like most the others on the track) fades out, firestarter kicks in at full blast and reminds you that it will kick your teeth in if you even think of giving this album less than a 9/10 or 5star.

Truth by Jeff Beck

A rock band in the era of psychedelics. They didn’t let the psychedelic scene dictate their music, they let it influence them and played an album true to themselves. This is just cool as fuck rock n roll, no fakeness.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane

pure jazz. goes off road only to weave its way back. Inspiring, visual and captivating.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand

Youthful, can imagine it playing in a dorm in the early 2000s, can imagine every song on a ps2 fifa menu. The authenticity is so apparent, the band is being cheeky without seeming to try too hard. Makes me want a beer with the boys, some fifa in the backround, the pub and night in front of us. That’s the first half of the album. second half: Marching band vibes, great back up vocals that are mixed perfect, blending in perfectly with the preaching lead vocals. slight stagnation in albums middle, too much marching band rhythm, could change with a hit. The lyrics, although not my favourite style, have to be admired for their rawness, almost as though they’ve been extracted from journal entries. I do wish some of the light was taken from the lyrics trying to be too prophetic and put into melodys and music. an album with potential but i found it couldn’t recover from it middle lull, still solid.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Jun 24 2024

Deep, dark, energised. Somehow this album provides flutters of hope even though it’s messages seem hopeless.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jun 28 2024

Classic rock that is impossible not to bang your head to. It’s raw, thick and technical as a guitar album you’ll every hear. Perfect pacing that never has you feeling like you’re longer for the end.

Another review wrapped it up perfectly, could not like it with my heart, only my head.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jul 04 2024

Flowy, funny, bit outrageous and a cinematic feel to it. Just one of those albums that is top tier, every working on it completely at their creative peaks. Love the skits, not sure why they get so much hate!

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Jul 05 2024

spacial, tribal and a church organ synth swimming beside them both. Great album to put on when you’re feeling introspective or just trying to think. This took me on a journey.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jul 08 2024

A masterpiece. The opening track is so crunchy. The lyrics on the album are valid and from the heart, joel isn’t trying to say something he doesn’t believe. These are all his legitimate stories. A classy, catchy album with vividly memorable lyrics.

Jul 09 2024

Such a cool sound, and so many hits that the arrangement of the album almost wouldn’t matter. Just a classic. love the blend of southern country with pure american rock and roll.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jul 10 2024

the songs i love on this album i 5 out of 5 love. The others, i’m indifferent to. The quality of the songs i like is enough and frequent enough for 4 stars.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Jul 16 2024

Wish version of dark side of the moon, with a couple hits that still suffer the indulgent, unwarranted floyd influence.

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Jul 17 2024

straight up, no nonsense rock album. just a nice shot gun blast of an album.

Jul 18 2024

Only until it realised this was a movie soundtrack did i realise the point of the album. I was originally going to say nothing but the first song jumped out at me, which makes me sense now. 2.9 stars, but if i had seen the movie i probably would’ve rated this much higher.
