Jazz Samba
Stan GetzReally chill and pleasant. Sounds like what I think when I hear “jazz” but apparently has a big bossa nova influence that came from Brazil and was pretty different from American jazz at the time.

Title track is the obvious stand—out. Guitar solos RIP. Solid.
Went from not being sure what Rush sounded like to instantly recognizing the first track (and most of the others). Apparently prog!! YYZ is a dope instrumental track. I like the 80s synth combined with the guitar riffs. Dragged a little though.
Thought I knew what to expect from the Beastie Boys, pleasantly surprised by the jazzy influence! More depth than I expected!
Interesting to hear such early synth pop, can definitely see the influence it had on bands like Joywave who I listen to now. The lyrics were too repetitive for my taste, but the beats are cool.
A couple ok songs, but Pencil Skirt was creepy and left a bad taste in my mouth. Back half of the album is better, but still just super creepy.
Really digging the jazzy elements. Reminds me of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtracks. I haven’t listened to this kind of hip hop much and I really like it!
Really liked the range. This is one that’s perfect for a long drive, and luckily I was on one when I was listening.
Boring, Lennon sucks. Honorable mention to “Hold On” because of the “cookie” interjection.
Not bad, easy to listen to and pleasant.
Pretty good, I like the instrumentals but the vocals get old after a while. I didn’t realize this album was from the 70s!
Solid metal, fun to listen to
Super cool hip hop with great samples, but knocked down a star because of the random preaching in the middle and the homophobic slurs
Just a good feeling album, I already knew I’d like this one.
Solid rock album, got a lot of classics
Glad to finally have an album by a lady pop up. It was ok but not really my taste.
A bit more accessible than the first Led Zepplin album I listened to.
Lonnnnng songs, a lot of weird talking, pretty slow.
Not bad! Got a little samey though
Shreds
Ah, I just love this album
Pretty good! Easy to listen to at work
Appreciate the jazz style and instrumentals
Not what I expected!
Pretty cool album, slow at times but solid
Her voice is so incredible I’m tempted to give it 5 stars, but the gospel takes it down a notch.
Started out strong but got a little too artsy for me. She seems cool af though
Biased because this is an old fave
Ugh, hated this. Super similar instrumentals with repetitive vocals and one song with a lot of awkward moaning
Super solid
