1001 Albums Summary

I didn't care much for this album when I first heard it, years ago. I liked one or two of the songs, but not the album as a whole. Some fewer years ago, I realized I did. And it became something I started to crave. I did really like The Kelptones mashup album that was this plus Queen's night at the opera (or maybe some other random songs actually) It's a pretty funky album. Pt 2 of the titular song isn't always enjoyable to listen to due to the screeching. The story of the album is Yoshimi battling the evil pink robots; narrated by someone watching from the sidelines, cheering her on. Allegorically, I think the ablum is about getting old. Yoshimi is the metaphorical inner child and the pink robots are the pressures of conforming to adulthood. Or maybe it's an album about being abused?

It's fine. I like some of the songs if they come on individually, but the album doesn't hold much for me as a singular experience. I don't think I'd actively put this album on, but I wouldn't necessarily immediately skip the songs.

Had never heard before. Was shocked to see just two songs, but they were long. Really nice mood and tonality. Parts reminded me of The Doors (The End) and bits of Atom Heart Mother.

All the songs on this sound the same. I wouldn't say it's a terrible album, but I disagree with it being on a notably list, and I wouldn't seek it out.

First year of highschool. I listened to this album a bunch. I remember when "when the pawn..." Came out and I thought it wasn't nearly as good. But now I like that one more.

I like nature boy, but there's better versions out there

I don't think I'd ever heard of them before. It's fine, but they're no Scorpions.
