Dirt by Alice In Chains
Dec 31 2024
Jan 31 2025

Rating Date- March 31, 2025 Initial Rating- 3 Album Number- 37 Album Plays- 5 Top Tracks- Natural Harmony Tribal Gathering Skip Tracks- Listening Notes- Only a couple of stand out tracks I’m adding to playlists, but no bad tracks either. An enjoyable listen, but not something I’ll play repeatedly.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Mar 02 2025

Date- 2/17/2025 Number- 67 Rating- 2 Top Tracks- Tumbling Dice Loving Up Ventilator Blues Listening Notes- For how much I like the Stones, it surprised me I had not listened to this album in full. Great Blues/Honky Tonk and Boogie album without anything skippable. I really enjoyed the piano, horns, steel guitar and blues vocals. I still lean more towards the Stones rock heavy songs, but I will be listening to this album much more. I may have listened to this album on my own, but am happy I did for the 1001 project. A solid 4.

So by Peter Gabriel

Green by R.E.M.
Apr 04 2025

Rating Date- April 6, 2025 Initial Rating- 4 Album Number- 100 Album Plays-Previously Owned Top Tracks- You Are the Everything Orange Crush Turn You Inside Out Skip Tracks- Stand Listening Notes- Polarizing album for a fan of R.E.M. Stipe is more clear with his singing, and the band is evolving and growing melodically. However, it also seems like the beginning of another favorite artist becoming more commercial. Will always remember the album fondly, and still enjoy listening to this day.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Apr 26 2025

Rating Date- May 3, 2025 Album Number- 122 Album Plays- 5 Album Rating- 4 Top Tracks- Bodysnatchers Weird Fishes/Arpeggi Reckoner Skip Tracks- Nude Videotape Listening Notes- Reckoner alone would make this album worth the listen. I’m familiar with Radiohead, but not their entire catalog. A couple of songs here that I don't love, but will enjoy this album repeatedly.

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Dec 12 2025

Date- 2/16/2025 Number- 344 Rating- 2 Top Tracks- Last Dance Listening Notes- Reminds me of an experimental, collective project with multiple instruments and a progressive punk ethos. I appreciate the use of violins and extra instrumentation, but it can also be distracting and discordant. Personally not a fan of the lead singer, or the multiple tracks with spoken word stylism. I don’t mind music that isn't straight forward melodies and harmonies, but it’s nice to occasionally feel like there’s an attempt. 1001 Albums calls Fear and Whiskey “country as played by English punks” seemed my biggest take away as well. While I won’t be listening to this album again, I was able to find a couple songs I will revisit. Happy to have tried something new, but would not be in my 1001 Must Listens.
