Popular Reviews

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

An album to fall into. It just oozes feeling and vibes (albeit, usually melancholy). Absolutely loved it.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jan 08 2025

Love the bluesy sections. Highlights are Comfortably Numb, In the Flesh, Another Brick in the Wall.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jan 09 2025

First three tracks are awesome. The rest is just meh. “The first time I saw your face” was straight up bad. Worth it for the start of the album though.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jan 10 2025

It’s the Foo Fighters, for the most part. You know if you’ll like it or not. Some thrasher cuts on here are pretty dope too though.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jan 13 2025

Side one isn't great, mostly sounded like demos (I liked Pale Blue Eyes though). Side two rocks. Murder Mystery is a notable song, although not sure how I feel about it to be totally honest. Incredibly unique regardless.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Jan 14 2025

Excited to listen to Midnite Cruiser in my midlife crisis convertible

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Jan 17 2025

Kinda zoned out for a bit, but really pleasant listen. Last track in particular was great. But, in general, it just kind of washed over me and didn’t leave THAT much of an impression.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jan 21 2025

Clearly exceptionally influential. Really hits hard too, even on a first listen. Classic for a reason!

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Jan 22 2025

Goes harder than expected, but also mostly just covers. Wish there was more original material (The Witch slaps)

Jan 23 2025

I still just don't like Moonchild. It's way too loose for my taste. That said, the rest of it? Gold.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Jan 24 2025

Less a band and more a group of people playing on top of each other. At its best it’s technically gifted blues rock, at its worst it’s terrible jazz. Also the singing, when relevant, is often just bad.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jan 27 2025

Yeah, this rocks.

Jan 28 2025

Basically two distinct albums. Speakerboxxx is consistently very good, but mostly didn't stand out to me to be honest. The Love Below isn't a hip hop album -- it's also probably got the record's highest highs and lowest lows. Overall, I'd say the album is like a 7/10... but Outkast has better.

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Jan 29 2025

This one really grew on me as I listened. I’ll need to return to it to see if I like it even more!

The Man Who by Travis
Jan 30 2025

Mostly boring as hell. No clue why it's on this list. Turn is a nice song, though.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 31 2025

An album to fall into. It just oozes feeling and vibes (albeit, usually melancholy). Absolutely loved it.

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Feb 03 2025

There’s no denying he’s one of the GOAT storytellers, but I just personally like some more song-to-song variation on an album. It’s a weird one where I just didn’t connect with it, but I can see why it’d be a favorite for a lot of people.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Feb 04 2025

It's fine. Had fun moments, but overall felt like an impression of the blues.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Feb 05 2025

Classic, obviously. Just very well done!

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Feb 17 2025

What the hell is this album cover lmao don't hate it, but it just isn't doing much for me. Seems like inoffensive wedding music

Rio by Duran Duran
Feb 18 2025

This album is a bass player's dream. Really liked it!

Risque by CHIC
Feb 19 2025

Basically every song was too long. Good grooves though.

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 20 2025

I don't know that I've heard many albums age better than this. Would guess it came out 5-10 years later than it did.

Close To You by Carpenters
Feb 21 2025

It's perfectly pleasant. Clearly talented musicians, and some moments really stick out, but overall it's just kind of mid.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 24 2025

I mean, it’s Rumours.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Feb 25 2025

The instrumentation rips. Unfortunately Morrisey sucks at singing. Still a great listen though.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Feb 26 2025

A fun indie rock album, but not much more to me.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Feb 27 2025

Couldn’t decide whether this was a 4 or 5, but it was a unique enough listen I have it the nod. Very full sound, and unique textures ESPECIALLY for the eighties.

Slayed? by Slade
Feb 28 2025

Fun instrumentals at times, but most of the time it’s by the numbers blues rock with horrible singing. By the scale of this list, that’s a 1.

Mar 03 2025

Queen is typically considered a singles band, but this is still a great album! Songs like '39 are underrated.

Sister by Sonic Youth
Mar 06 2025

Pretty neat.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Mar 07 2025

Pretty repetitive, but also hits really hard. Great gym music.

Mar 10 2025

Great album! Especially from a band not considered an “album band”

The Yes Album by Yes
Mar 11 2025

Fun prog rock, could’ve hit harder though.

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Mar 14 2025

Really really mid. Did nothing for me, some fun riffs prevent it from being a 1.
