1001 Albums Summary

I liked the sound of this. I listened to it while helping someone with a lettering task, so I wasn’t totally present. However, it was groovy!

I listened to the first few minutes of this earlier. Wow! Just wow. Of course I couldn't understand the lyrics but everything came together in such a way that I felt instantly compelled. In some cases (forgive me!) I will hear a piece of a musical work and have the urge to skip around, to get a general idea of how I feel, but I'm excited to listen to this in full. 45 minutes... it's incredible how long we toil at art only to have such a small piece of work. I found myself moved by a lot of the compositions and would like to learn more about the lyrical content.

I found this album to be quite lovely, familiar in the sense that I can easily glean her influence from a single listen. I added the song "Little Green" to my Likes for revisiting.

OK! I get the idea. I can't really say there's anything wrong with the music itself, but it all starts to feel familiar, except for the title track, which is of course unique and landmark for a reason...

Fresh sounds. Gotta return to this one

I was nervous I wouldn’t enjoy this one from the first track but there were some really lovely pieces on here. Le Freak has been pretty well-worn over the years, but it was nice hearing it in context with the album as intended and not as a needle-drop gag in a movie.
