Kinda meh! Recording quality makes the sound very shrill. Like, I get that he was big in his time, but this really doesn't grab me. I can hear the impact and references of this album in contemporary music though, so it is undoubtably very influential.
Very nice album! I can hear that a lot of music was inspired by it. I do think it might be a bit samey, but I think that is also part of the charm.
At first, this is a pretty ok album, some classics and some experimental stuff. Generally very enjoyable. Then, Bohemian Rhapsody turns out to be from this album. What a masterpiece of a song! One of the all time greats! It singlehandedly makes this one of the best albums of all time. The fact that it holds up and still stands strong after 50 years is very impressive!
I should listen more to blues! This album is really good. Janis really gets her emotions across with her unique style of singing. I heard a lot of "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Mercedes Benz" growing up so it was nice hearing it in context.
Pinball wizard is a good song, but other than that this album doesn't really grab me. It feels like there might be a story going on that I'm missing. I should probably come back and actually pay full attention to the lyrics, but I doubt it will make my view of the album change much
This was the first album I listened to twice. Not necessarily because it was that great, but because I didn't realise it had looped. It was good enough for me to not wait for it to be over, but samey enough for me not to realise. I think it was probably pretty unique at its time, but hearing it now it just felt perfectly decent.
This album surprised me so much, or rather, my reaction to it. I've been aware of Bob Dylan and heard a few songs, but never really got it. This album was great though, witty and funny in a way I didn't expect. Very catchy too!
Some absolute bangers on this album, but also some real meh songs. The highs are high and the lows are mid.
Now this rocks! I hadn't heard of this band before, and after an initial listen I'm quite excited to listen more to it! It is very classic hard rock or maybe even sleezeish. Very melodic, with great riffs and the singer's screams of "Yeah" scratches my brain real good. Really liked this album and am going to a song from it to my playlists!
I feel like I should like this, but I don't. Some songs were pleasant, but mostly I was stressed out by how droning and drawn out everything was.
Based! This is good, as far as punk goes, not generally my favourite genre, but the clash has something about them.
This is a good album. Her voice is so iconic and she sings so well. It might not be my go to kind of music, but I can recognise good music when I hear it.
This album deals with some heavy issues to an nice groove. Very important album, also a good listen!
Ok album. Some catchy songs, but overall didn't feel too impactful for me.
Pretty cool album, a bit too experimental for me, but at times incredibly groovy. It it weren't for the incredibly dissonant screetchy sounds at times, I could see myself listening to this more.
Started out super funky, which ruled! Thrn it went all jazz, which ruled less. It was probably very novel and inspiring, but jazz isn't really my genre at all. Still pretty good though.
I am usually very wary of "supergroups", I find that it tends to be more of a hype bubble than mych substance to it. I find thr same here. Apparently this album was wildly praised and insanely acclaimed. I find it ok, it is pleasant enough, but really doesn't do much in any direction.
Pretty nice, felt very much like background music. Not sure I would ever put it on, but definitely ok with having it on.
Classic album! Plenty of proper bangers on rhis album. This album feels very influential. I do feel like it is pretty aged, but still holds up after 60 years. Not an album I am likely to play, but I'm happy to listen to.
I realise that I mostly like the popular songs of Stevie's. I obviously appreciate the quality of the songs, and I can see how many can love them. My feelings from the album were pretty meh.
Pretty cool, I like Even flow and Alive, the rest was alright. It's a bit drawn out for my taste, but overall pretty good
Pretty alright. I think I vibe with the politics more than the music though. If you had put this on and told me it was The Clash, I would have believed you. A few of the songs were pretty catchy.
Foundational album! While I really enjoy a few of the songs, I feel like the cult of the album stems from the lore and drama of the group. It's definitively a good album, but for me, not one of my go to albums.
Free Bird is a fantastic song! The rest of the album was alright. But none of the other songs had the same power.
Very close to a five! So many bangers on this album. More great songs than ok songs. All in all a very enjoyable album!
Undoubtably a great album. One that I likely will never listen to again. While great, and showcasing impressive talent, it is not my vibe. I will def listen to the hits again, but the rest really doesn't do it for me.
