1001 Albums Summary

This was probably something great in a live venue, but did not land well via laptop speakers mid-Monday

Would have given 3.5 in comparison to similar things I like, however, I'll let it have a 4 because I didn't turn it off

Absolutely not a fan of "indie man bands" so a reluctant 4, again, because I "get it" and it was better content-wise than the prior album, which I gave a 3.

I liked this... Easy listening and inoffensive, however, it didn't excite me and is very "background friendly"

Would have been a 4 if it were a live performance, I'm sure

Another case of first track being the best, but I have to give a 3 because they're better than the Pixies, which I gave a 2.

Fun, but ultimately wouldn't replay this, and in comparison to other albums in this genre, just not quite making the 4. Would give 3.5 though

+1 star for some of the longer tracks and native tongue ones, which transported me to some wartime musical, and they aren't out of place there!

Whilst I can't deny their popularity, and some lyrical and musical elements are great... the vocalist's dreary tone is too much of a nail in the coffin for me. If I was depressed, Coldplay would be what finished me off.

I don't dislike the genre, but this isn't the best example of it.
