Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Feb 09 2025

Jet- very rock. Droning heavy bass lines. Almost reminds me of a 70s “Jump-van happen” Bluebird - now a switch to a jazzy, tropical vibe Mamunia - harmonies, acoustic guitar, sounds like an African choir singing along with a guitar man, but then with some electric sounds coming in. Not sure I’m a fan of those Picassos last words - a calm, smooth, drinking song sounding (obviously) ballad. Calls back to jet, which I like. Sounds like something you’d hear at a cozy bar after the liveliness died down and people are starting to get tired and just sit and talk and sing, which is often the best time! 1985 - urgency, somethings on the line, save the day from the bomb that’s about to go off! Climax of a movie - words and vibes that come into my mind when listening to this

Odelay by Beck
Feb 10 2025

I liked parts of this album. Some snippets of songs were enjoyable to me, mixing what I think is hip hop and country in some passages. But that’s the problem, it was just snippets. And these snippets, even though enjoyable, were surrounded by jumbled mashes of in my opinion just irritating noise, rather than music. So because of this it’s a 2 star for me

Feb 11 2025

Nice album. Rock is one of my favourite genres so it was an easy listen. But to be honest nothing much stood out to me about it… it’s clear why free bird is the stand out song from the album. Definitely the best

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 12 2025

Really enjoyed this one. I of course knew bad moon rising, but new discoveries which I really liked were sinister purpose and wrote a song for everyone

Destroyer by KISS
Feb 13 2025

Decent, might have to listen a little again. But none of the songs really struck a chord with me

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Feb 14 2025

Didn’t get all the way through. But was great background music for cleaning and working. Nice beats, nice vocals. Enjoyable and eye opening to Afro beats

Guero by Beck
Feb 15 2025

This one was much better than odelay. Enjoyed it

Feb 17 2025

Some enjoyable songs, some not. Some weird lyrics and creaming at time. But mostly fairly pleasant

Sea Change by Beck
Feb 18 2025

Mellow and melodramatic album. Relaxing. Crazy how becks albums sound so different

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Feb 19 2025

New genre for me. It was pleasant to listen to, but I also thought it was a little bit chaotic at times in a way? Idk maybe that’s just how jazz is. It was fine as background music but I couldn’t really actively listen to it I think

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Feb 20 2025

Another new genre for me. Didn’t completely actively listen to all songs. But I did like a few of them. But then there were also moments of chaos which I didn’t love, but overall pretty enjoyable

Boston by Boston
Feb 22 2025

Was just meh tbh. I like rock so it was alright to listen to

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Feb 25 2025

Didn’t finish. Don’t really know what to say, just didn’t like it

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Feb 26 2025

Sounds like the soundtrack of a dystopian indie game. And that’s the only situation I’d say it’s justifiable, couldn’t listen to this normally
