White Blood Cells
The White StripesI fell in love with a girl, a classic, never gets old. Didn’t know hotel Yorba, it was fun. The same boy you’ve always known gave me Jeff Buckley vibes

the album is one for the books, the production is fantastic, the jazzy instruments here and there make it even more interesting. David Bowie is the first musician who made me understand and appreciate the artistry behind music, all the creative minds who made it possible for an album, for a song to happen. He and his music pushed me to explore what i like, to learn and dive into music and to feel. It's been 10 years since i discovered him. A few months after, this album was out and he passed 2 days later. This context made this album so much more meaningful to me. It is raw, beautiful, of great quality. Listening to it almost 10 years later, with a new perspective on music, on life and death and life in general makes it a different experience. i have grown (as i was only 11 at the time) and the music resonates so much more today. Bowie wasn't the best person but his artistry really shone through his music and persona, which was exceptional. In conclusion, the album is intrigueing, very well made, it's context of production and its different inspirations make it an "intemporel" album to me. 4.5/5
never listned to this album as closely as this time, a note on 5 is hard because while i liked and even loved some songs, i wouldn't give it a 4/5 or a 5. i think a 3.5/5 is the note id give it. i liked track 2, 4 and 6 the most. i can see that it influenced many inde bands in the futute which is interesting.
I only listned to Remain in Light before, which was kind of hard to me because i could never wrap my head around their music. however, this album made it a bit easier and it is a very fun album ngl, iliked a few songs, a bit goofy, id listen to it during different occasions :)). it was fun and i had a good time, its well made and consistent
I love your loving ways yes I do. A beautiful project. Four women is such a powerful song that I already knew before but have learned more about through listening to this album (my name is peaches, wow). It must’ve been amazing live The rendition of these standards like lilac wine is wonderful, I needn’t ask for more or better. The way the lyrics are said in lilac wine is so delicate and romantic. I don’t know when her alcoholism started but this song also reminds me of her and her story. Break down and let it all out really makes me want to do as she says. Juste open up, let it all out. Why keep on breaking my heart is nice. I like how her voice and the way she sings is a bit different from the other songs on the album. Wild is the wind, omg. It’s so beautiful. In addition to it being such a powerful and political album with its lyrics and their delivery, the instrumentals go perfectly with each song which makes for a wonderful listening experience. I really like this one
It was fun!! Very 60s 70s, i didnt know it at all. I enjoyed some songs more than others. Animal farm was nice. I liked the concept of the album, I feel there is more to learn and understand from it but it is cool and I want to know more.
Anti war songs always sounds great. Combined with great production, a fun rendering with a political message. The (un) explicit lyrics need to be explored. I’m not familiar with Frankie goes to Hollywood and even tho it was kind of hard to “get” it, to really dive into the album, I am eager to listen to more of their music. It is very “rock-y” for a “pop” group, a bit too much I’d say but as they might say, nothing succeeds like excess. (3.5/5 for me). I like it, would try listening to it again.
C’était super en vrai, je n’étais pas familière avec supertramp excepté certaines chansons, mais c’était totalement différent de ce que j’attendais j’aime bien
C’était incr
C’était fun
Great convers and original songs, a very raw rendering, i liked most songs, the back ups by other artists were also Nice (esp Fiona apple). I knew most of the original songs and I thought the reworking with the new production (by Rick Rubin) was very interesting and new.
I love the psychadelic tones of the velvet underground. I was less familiar with this album that others but it was really great
Jsp, j’ai pas trop aimé, c’était fun mais bon, après je ne l’ai pas écouté bien bien…
très rock haha
