Is This It
The StrokesI bought this when first released but other than the singles from it & a couple of the album tracks, it never wowed me. I enjoyed revisiting it but it still leaves the same impression.

I already had this album downloaded but had never listened to it in its entirety & in the order of tracklisting. I loved listening to it how it was meant to be. I need to do this more often. Brilliant album!
Not my favourite Led Zeppelin album (IV) but it’s definitely second.
I find all their music sounds the same. This album has never wowed me.
This isn’t my kind of thing but I can appreciate her voice & the music. It took me to a small bar in a city, sipping whisky in a smokey atmosphere in a time I wasn’t born in.
Elvis is who my mum played in the kitchen when I was younger. I enjoy his more uptempo songs but I wouldn’t choose to listen to him. However, I can very much appreciate that the bands I love & grew up listening to, were influenced by Elvis. Such as The Clash & their homage to him with the London Calling album cover. So although he’s not a preference of mine, I understand his importance. And I did enjoy the majority of the tracks on this album.
I already have this album. It’s fantastic. I love it. I always find no matter what the subject is, his songs are uplifting. I love his voice. Plus, he cameos in one of my all time favourite films. Legend.
I’d forgotten about The Zutons. I knew the singles from this album but had never listened to this. I’m surprised - I really enjoyed it! They’re a band whose songs I’ve enjoyed on the radio but I’ve never investigated further. Downloaded this one!
When I’m in the right mood & environment, I know I’d enjoy this. But I couldn’t listen to this every day. And it would never be a choice to play it. Their music for me has a time & a place. That time is at home in the evening. With narcotics.
This is a favourite of mine but it was good to listen to it. It’s been a while.
She’s got a great voice but this isn’t for me - or perhaps today I just wasn’t in the mood for it?
I was already familiar with Gritty Shaker. I’m not sure if I’d listen to this again but I did enjoy it. I downloaded it anyway. Its atmospheric. Perhaps in the right situation I’d revisit it?
Already familiar with a few of the tracks on this album. It was good to listen to it in its entirety. Rush always remind me of The Limelight & 2112 rock clubs in Crewe where I hung out sometimes in my youth, so this was a bit nostalgic to hear.
Way too airy & twee for my liking. I get it - they were the first all female band to have success who played their own instruments & write their own songs. But where’s the bite? It’s still just bland, easy listening. Nothing special.
Already have this album. How can you not love it?
So many familiar classics which have been covered by bands I love, so I was able to sing along. Absolutely beautiful.
Very much enjoyed it! I do love old skool hiphop & intelligent rap.
Enjoyed the songs I already knew but got a bit bored by some of the rest.
Smiled when this popped up. I cherish this record. Not my favourite Cure album but I’m sure that’ll be in here too. And it was a delight to hear this again
I’ve never knowingly listened to Dusty Springfield but I do know the majority of these songs & enjoy them when I hear them but they’re not something I’d willingly to choose to listen to. They absolute classics though. No denying that.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
I just can’t do jazz. No matter how talented the musician.
I don’t mind Aerosmith but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind for it unfortunately
Beautiful voice but not my thing
While I can appreciate why people would enjoy this & it’s considered a triumphant effort, it’s not my kind of thing at all.
Familiar stuff but it’s not for me. Or perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood
I don’t often listen to soul or Rn’B but I always have time for Marvin Gaye. Fantastic songs & voice
As I listened to this the sun was shining through my window & this record was perfect for my mood today & uplifted me while working. Very much enjoyed it & it’s not something I’d choose to listen to ordinarily.
While I understand why it’s considered so highly, it’s far too prog for my ears. It’s not doing anything for me. I do like the artwork though so 3 stars.
I don’t think it’s anything spectacular but I did enjoy it. I was already familiar with some of the tracks
Big fan of the gravelly voiced singers & Tom Waits is the king of them.
