The production on this is fantastic given how old it is. What a voice ! Shivers ! Uplifting, powerful, angry, girl power soul at its greatest. This is a no skip album. Surrounded by some of the best musicians to have ever graced the earth, one of the the greatest female vocalists ever is in good company. Best songs: Respect obviously, DrFeelgood and Good Times. Worst song : good luck finding one

Yeah not sure about this one. Sounds a bit like Simon & Garfunkel added a bit of country and then asked the BeeGees to sing on it. Good if you like that kind of thing but not great if you don’t. The guitars are sublime on this though. Definitely would skip a few Best songs : Wooden ships, Long Time Gone Worst : Guinevere - just boring

As others have said here. Respect to the voice and the innovation of the time. But this is so dated now and all sounds the same. There’s only so much 12 bar blues a modern ear can take. Was probably a 5 star no skip album at the time. Not any more

Stop giving me country albums - great voice awful music … just really not my thing

Bof ! I was curious to hear an album by Joni because I had only heard her famous stuff. This isn’t that. Not my thing, voice is annoying and the music all sounds the same, too folky for me. I’m going to listen to some of her later stuff instead apparently it’s more rock jazz

This is in my top 50 albums of all time. It’s not just the voice, it’s the arrangements, the songs, the lyrics and the production. All fantastic. And then there’s that voice. Iconic. A no-skip optimistic celebration of the melancholy moments in life. The perfect Sunday evening album.
