In A Silent Way
Miles Davis
I forgot this album existed. I used to listen to it all the time and think it's one of my favourite Miles Davis albums. Sure there are other cools ones like Bitches Brew and the Spain one. And then there's the classic Kind of Blue. But something about this one is much more accessible but also has that cool factor. You can just let it play in the background and it doesn't make you work for anything, or perk your senses if you don't want it to.

Not a bad album. Feels experimental in some ways. I thought it would have a bunch of filler, but even the non-hits had a lot of soul behind them.

Same old punk/pop, bowie-like bullshit. Not my cup of tea. I do like The Passenger though.

Cream
This should be right up my alley: 60s, rock, psychedelia, blues, etc. But it manages to sound very, very dated - whereas some other band of that era (the Dead, traffic, etc) managed to avoid that.

Pulp
Feels like a band who looked around at Muse and Radiohead and were like "crap, wish that were us". Sort of that dated UK pop stuff that doesn't translate overseas. Still there is good musicianship and a couple good songs. But nothing to write home about.

Love a world-music, drum-led, electric-guitar-enhanced album! Although, of course, it gets formulaic, and shall I say, boring if you're not in the right frame of mind. But I can totally see myself trying to place myself in that frame of mind to bliss out to this album!

Man, rockabilly gets old, fast; I couldn't listen to more than 2 songs before it all started sounding exactly the same. That German audience sure ate it up though!

I remember this from the Napster days. The first 75% (or so) of this album is made up of bangers. Then after one or two forgettable songs, there are some more bangers. 5 stars for creating a killer vibe!
