I've seen this album cover many places, but surprised I've never listened to it. Seems to be an album a lot of people get first when collecting vinyl. Way more jammy than I thought. Probably very experimental for the time.
Loved it. Great political story behind it too.
A very clean and well produced album. Catchy and fast riffs. Obviously written for arenas. Not as "hard" as the art might lead you to believe. The music does feel dated and I don't know in what part of my life I would personally listen to this again. I would rate this album a 4 in terms of quality of songs and production, but for my personal tastes it's a 3 at best.
Classic album.
Very raw album. Not many melodies.
If you told me this was a David Byrne side project, I’d believe you.
I have never once intentionally listened to this album but I know most of the songs.
Amazing record for its time. Its hard to review in the context of today because all of the songs have been played to death in so many ways.
Interest post punk album
I mean he's an amazing songwriter and these songs are objectively good, but I can never get into it. It just seems too 70s camp to me.
