1001 Albums Summary

I was impressed with this album. Several bluesy tunes, a few rock-n-roll classics and the rest was very solid fare. Pleasantly surprised and much better than their latest offerings.

The songs on this album seemed like they were written for some strange musical that never made the stage. The music and arrangements sounded complex …. and maybe that was the goal. I would never listen to this again.

Telling that my favorite song on this album is a cover tune. Talking Heads just aren’t my thing.

I’m generally not a fan of punk rock, but like the mainstream classics. This was a pleasant surprise. Solid punk guitar edge with talented bass and drum musicians. The occasional synthesizer accompaniment was interesting but not out of place. I will definitely be returning to this album.

Haven’t listened to much Punk Rock. In the 70s and 80s all I heard on the radio were the Ramones , the Clash and limited amounts of the Sex Pistols. This album was solid. High energy, fast paced, enjoyable listening. A few songs seemed to have a bit of bluesy influence.

Apparently this was a trailblazing hard core speed metal offering. As much as I like heavy metal, the grim, dark nature of the themes is a bit much for me. I won’t be listening to this again.

Quite eclectic. A little hippy edge, s few blues tunes, the coconut song and Jumping Into the Fire. Enjoyed this album.

Solid New Wave tunes.

Girl from Ipanema - fantastic. Not enough bossa nova in the world.
