Court And Spark
Joni MitchellHell yeah I love Joni Mitchell
Hell yeah I love Joni Mitchell
I love it, it’s like if Björk was in the B52s.
Love - listened to it twice. There’s some killer Latin percussion and great bass playing on this record.
It’s a classic for a reason
I think it was a had to be there sort of situation. Not for me.
I’d estimate ive listened to this album over 50 times in my life as an alto sax player - Paul Desmond made it cool
An absolute classic. The basslines, the harmonies, just awesome
It is my favorite Beatles Album
I understand why people would be into it, New Wave just isn’t my thing.
Another classic- had this one on vinyl from parents and used to listen to it over and over again while all my peers were listening to dr Dre. No wonder I didn’t have any friends hahah
I don’t know which of the Stereolab albums are my favorite but I know I never turn off one of their songs when it comes on
An album in which I learn about an instrument of which I was previously unaware (e.g. the cuica) is a five star album.
A glorious slice from a different time. Some of those drum parts are shocking honestly.
I mean I traveled to Spain to see this band because of this album
I gave it a try, I made it about an hour in but it’s really a slog and didn’t grab me at all. Just not my style.
For as famous as it is, I had never listened to it before!
Holy shit the percussion alone is worthy of 5 stars
This album is a party from start to finish, and a masterpiece to boot. I first heard about it on the Ginger Baker documentary where you find out he is absolutely batshit crazy, but also a virtuoso who pushed the boundaries and found Fela to work together AFTER he revolutionized rock and roll with Clapton. Still, the bass playing is the best part of the album.
What a gd ripper
I mean cmon
Was not prepared for the beauty that is a Nick drake album today haha
A friend of mine burned this for me in high school and I used to listen to it all the time. Michelle was my favorite from the album for a long time, but I think maybe now it’s Drive My Car?
Hell yeah- love it when Bootsy shows up outside of P-funk. One of my favorite bass players of all time
It’s fun to hear the early ideas that became QOTSA
