1001 Albums Summary

This is immediately familiar to me. I would be I have heard this album before sometime in my childhood- this is exactly the stuff my dad listened to, and the the kind of music that was heavily influencing the music his band was making at the time. It all kinda sounds the same until Down In a Hole. Really like the drum intro to Sickman. Really like the drums overall in this song, and the changes in timing. Rooster is classic. Everyone knows this. I get why: it has the most texture and diversity of sound from everything else on the album. I love this genre, but this album wasn’t for me.

I liked the concept of the album. I really enjoyed what felt like a seamless blends of genres in this album. My favorite (besides Karma Police, because duh) was Exit Music (For A Film); I found it more melodic than some of the other songs. This was not my favorite listen from Radiohead, but I get it and I get why it’s so revered and influential. I enjoyed this. Probably won’t revisit. I do not need to own on this on vinyl. (Why does Thom Yorke get to have whiny, nasally, sub-par, pitchy vocals but Taylor Swift can’t?)

This was a fun listen. I liked the second half much more than the first. I would have liked more songs if they were just instrumental versions. I would listen to this again. I don’t need to own this on vinyl.

This was not a new album for me. I love this record. No skips, absolute perfection. Beautiful piano. Transcendent. I don’t own this on vinyl yet and I need it.

This was a fun listen, and I would probably revisit it!

Extra star for the Latin influence, her vocals, and the nostalgia.
