Really cool hearing how similar yet different to The Beatles this album is. I liked the instrumental/guitar riffs on many of the tracks
I’d only ever heard “Where It’s At” before this. The whole album is very cool.
This was a tough listen. Several of the songs I actively disliked. But some of them were pretty good. I think my ears just weren’t impressed with their sound or the singer. I’d never listened to Joy Division, but had heard of them and knew they were highly regarded by some. But it just wasn’t for me, apparently.
I liked this one a lot. Great sound, great beats, and such a soulful voice
This album was so fun, I was sad when it ended. So I played it again.
Rough listen. It was kind of generic and didn’t feel like they knew what kind of music they wanted to make, nor did it feel like they really cared.
Pretty good overall! I’d never actually listened to Elvis Costello but knew of him and how he was pretty popular and influential. So it was cool actually hearing that music. Some parts of it feel dated to that specific era, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I liked it. This was the first Beach Boys album I’ve ever listened to. I’ve only ever heard their hits randomly but never a whole album.
This is one of my favorite albums period. Great to listen again. The only thing I have a gripe about is in the streaming era, they added Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll as the last track, after Everything Will Be Alright. EWBA is the perfect ending to this album and what I still consider the correct ending, just like my original CD album had. Call me old, it’s just a better ending.
I’d really only heard The Kinks in Wes Anderson movies prior to this 😂 It was good, and a lot of fun!
First time listening to Circle Jerks. I’ve never experienced an early punk album like this. Very funny that the whole thing is 16 minutes long
Rockabilly is not really my style, but I can see how there are influences coming from this genre in the other types of music I like or have listened to. So not my favorite, but cool to try something new to me.
