FunkadelicVery funky, as per the name. I didn’t care for the last for first songs. Some tracks were enjoyable, and the album reminded me of a song by Vulfpeck: Rango II.

So much harmonica. Too much. So grating. I don’t like Dylan’s voice that much. The music behind him was good. The songs were all wacky, I couldn’t figure if they were supposed to tell a story? Desolation Row was ROUGH. The same thing over and over for 10 minutes. We get it, the world is upside down.
This was a good album. Very much more my speed. Feels like the classic rock that it is, and it feels like the granddaddy of some of the music I enjoy. Songs had lyrics that told stories, or lyrics which could be ignored in favor of the music. Didn’t blow me away, but I really did like it.
Jazz. Good jazz, I’m sure, but still just jazz to me. Great for the background, but nothing in it blew me away. I did not finish this album, but I feel confident I’ve listened to enough of it.
I enjoyed this one for what it was. Similar to last week’s jazz album, I felt that this one was great background noise and pretty good music. Unlike the jazz album, I would likely listen to this one in my spare time. Would give a 3.5 if I could, but here’s a 4.
Eh. Very 80’s. There were some spots which were fun, and others that felt like peak 80’s soundscape. But it’s not really my cup of tea, I’m finding. At least not this authentic. I’d give it a three, but I definitely don’t see myself listening to the whole album again. **A little hippie-ish as well, minus 0.2 points
Whole album felt like the same song. Maybe it’s just not one of their bangers. Brian Wilson passed away the other day, and I feel it besmirches his name, but 3/5 for this album, for me.
Not really my vibe either. Much more grungy than my go to’s. Some of the sound was enjoyable, but the vocals leaned into discordance pretty often (shocking given that album cover, huh?). I’m just not a big discordance guy yet. Though this 1001 album thing is making me appreciate the extremely broad range of what people like, and I find that cool. LCD Soundsystem gets a 2.
Very good. I don’t get what the hype around Dreams is about. I enjoyed it, and am giving it some re-listens, but it’s kinda just.. good? Idk abt 2 billion streams good. Album sounds modern, which is really interesting since it’s from the 70’s.
I enjoyed this album decently. Repetitive in style, but catchy and harmonic. I’d give it a higher score but nothing pulls me in for a second listen.
Very fun. Explicit in some areas, which isn’t my preference. Made me feel weird bopping along to very black, very 80’s hip hop, but I felt relatively cool listening.
I couldn’t stand this for very long. I tried.
I liked it. Right up my alley, very comfortable.
Was alright. A predecessor to bands like Kaleo, Greta van Fleet. Fun sounding music, but a bit much if you’re not in the mood. Much more explicit than I knew Guns ‘n Roses was. My fault, but still knocks it down the list a little. Would’ve been a 3 if not for the lyrics.
Oh so funky. Was getting big Vulfpeck flavors. Wasn’t surprised to find out Herbie Hancock was an inspiration to them. I don’t get the Watermelon Man hype, and while the album was good, I won’t likely give the entire thing another listen. 4/5 for Chameleon, 3/5 for the album.
Gives me Over the Garden Wall vibes. Very wacky; psychedelic is indeed how I’d describe it. I think because it’s folk ant its core, it escapes the one star rating. A few highlights. But mostly discordant, which I don’t like.
Like the rockiest of the Beatles. I heavily like. Very likely to be added to my rotation. Good summer/Logan Lucky vibes. I only wish the audio was crisper. Not quite as amazing to warrant a 5, but very much up my alley for a random album.
Another 4/5. CCR simply doesn’t fail. I can’t say there were any outstanding songs particularly, but they all suited my preferences. I’ll see if I add it to the rotation, but I will definitely revisit it.
Very moody. Not built for a sunny summer day, but I enjoyed it. The strings reprise at the end of the album was chefs kiss. I don’t care for his voice, at least not enough for a whole album. He was reading the lyrics like poetry, which was interesting (he was previously a poet). Not quite a 4/5, but better than most 3’s.
Ms. Dynamite is a girl boss. She’s pro “ditch the man who don’t treat you right” and also pro “you only want me cause I’m famous, get outta here.” Explicit, but, for the most part, empowering. I don’t know if I’ll revisit, I’m not the demographic. I’ll give it a 3, but only because it’s better than a 2.
Perfect with some McDonald’s after a long day at the office. Such lovely music, such lovely scenery. Without the context, prob a 3/5, but I gotta give it some bonus points.
I don’t like his voice very much, nor do the lyrics make a lot of sense to me (on a first pass). But the rock and roll is sweet to me. The song about the nickel is good.
