Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy

Too political and preachy. Puts me on edge. Once is enough, one and done. Will not stand up over time.

Who's Next by The Who

I own this CD Absolute classic!

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.

Very surprised. PROS Guitar melody Of the time Bright Flow CONS Not much diversity

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jul 15 2025

I own this CD. Long album. Would rate higher if it was a proper album (no jams). It was rated higher as a whole because of the quality of jams and the musicians involved.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jul 16 2025

As Pearl Jam sang on Vitalogy, this is not for you!

Who's Next by The Who
Jul 17 2025

I own this CD Absolute classic!

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Jul 18 2025

I own CD. Opens strong with 2 hits. Jazzy, bluesy, soulful. Album has good flow. Interesting (soundtrack) interludes - good but not necessary. Love Africano - groove and jam

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 22 2025

Really enjoyed this. Hard to rate (all albums) after one listen, actually not fair to artists. Will definitely revisit this one, a lot going on. Strong take on religion.

Jul 23 2025

Too quirky for repeated listens. Doesn’t speak to me. Production seems more important than the songwriting. Peeled the whole onion in one listen.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

I own this CD. One of my favorite Sabbath albums. Love the riffs and jams. Guitar tone is awesome. Jazz influence is welcomed. Not down with world view lyrics.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy

Too political and preachy. Puts me on edge. Once is enough, one and done. Will not stand up over time.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk

Real Jazz. Sonny Rollins on sax - so good. Deep but also relaxing. So atmospheric.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jul 27 2025

I own this CD. Great production. Somber. Music is moody and beautiful - Saxaphone is gorgeous. I love the jazz movements mixed with melody. Lyrics are sad and tragic. Much discussion and many questions. Favorite tracks: Lazarus, Dollar Days, and I Can't Give Everything Away

Green by R.E.M.

I own this CD. Get Up You are the Everything I Remember California all made my mix tapes of the day! More produced than their previous albums due to the fact this was their first record with Warner Bros (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I especially like the rock of Orange Crush and Turn You Inside-Out. Not my favorite R.E.M. albums but would probably land in the top 7. Untitled is my favorite untitled song ever, well maybe a tie with the Smashing Pumpkins.

Dirt by Alice In Chains

Heavy listening. Very minor key but good dynamics. Guitar good throughout but love solo in Hate to Feel. The cover reflected my listening experience. I enjoyed the album but I would need to be in a very specific mood to listen to this and this would be a mood I wouldn't frequent very often.

I own this CD. The last of the "early albums" and not my favorite - that award goes to Life's Rich Pageant. There are a number of things I like about this album starting with guitar. I also like the second 1/2 of the album starting with The One I Love. I also like Lightnin' Hopkins, King of the Birds, and Fireplace. The first 1/2 has good R.E.M. songs, I just think they are average R.E.M. songs.

Musically- no surprises. Lyrically- irreverent. Sounds like a drunken family get together to “discuss” politics.
