The Flaming LipsWould listen again. Complex. Don’t know if it hits emotionally though.

Of course I knew 'Hurt' but I've never listened to the whole album. Glad I did. On the whole extremely solid. a few ups and downs ('Bridge over troubled water' just didn't do it for me) , so I'd score somewhere between 4-5 stars, if I were allowed to. However, as ' Hurt' , ' the Man Comes Around' , and ' Personal Jesus' are such Iconic tunes, I'll score a 5.
Good album yes. Great? Live would be great but as canned music… perhaps less so. Undeniably great songs on the album though. 3.4….
Timed just right: sunday morning with a slight hangover and sunshine. great album all tracks solid. ready to listen again.
Hard sometimes to place classic albums in their context. I.e. how did the world listen to this in 1967? In 2025 music has built on this, been inspired by this, and so while I have never listened to the whole album, it feels very familiar. Was it ground breaking in 1967? Did it change things? Perhaps, perhaps not. I have no intention of doing the research to find out. Listening to it today with a song like 'Respect' firmly in the global consciousness, I cannot imagine a world without this. Perhaps thats worth a 5.
yes well. somewhat enjoyable. would I listen again? I wouldn't leave a room because it was playing. there is a remote possibility I'd appreciate it more if I listened again.
Some good/great songs. (Relax/ Two Tribes/ The Power of Love) Lots of filler. Who needs 13:40 of cut and paste crap (welcome to the pleasure dome) even if it's extremely well produced crap. some decent-ish cover versions, some dismal (San Jose) and all in all not enough to make this a great album.
Enjoyed this, good musicians, and would listen again. great? maybe great-ish
Why did I ignore this in my teens?
Ramones, YES! Great Album? Not really. Great songs though.
Fun. Eclectic. Love the energy and diversity. Understand if someone rates this a 5, but not me. Except for Girls&Boys none of the songs really make me want to live in the sonic world that it creates.
Boring with some positive outliers. I used to think that singing in tune was overrated. but after listening to this I really do see the merits of it. Can someone teach Richard Ashcroft to sing?
Surprised that this was actually really good background music for work. Great album? From what I can gather it made its mark as landmark recording in hip hop in 1996. Context is important. a 4. Not a 5. why? I've surprised myself by wanting to play this again, but I think it needs something more to be great. That may be my remaining bias speaking.
Well that was interesting.
Nirvana can almost do no wrong. great? no. good? yes.
Meh
I wasn't expecting to like this. I did.
Well. I wasn't expecting this to be this good. I avoided this with professional zeal when I was in my teens, but apparently the circumstance of being 17 does not qualify you as a seasoned music critic... Still a 3. Would listen again.
This was definitely a 5 when I listened to it first in the 80's. Now? Still great, but a 4. Why? there are better Cure albums. ( but not many)
Never listened to this, glad I did.
Growing on me.
