Ys by Joanna Newsom

4/5. This one really struck a chord with me. Newsom's voice has a unique quality to it.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Aug 13 2025

I had never listened to this album before, but it's exactly what I would expect from REM. They had a really strong and realized sound right from their first album.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 14 2025

classic early 70's sound with a little 50's inspired rhythmy guitar. great first listen for me

Aug 15 2025

I really struggled with this album. I'm someone who likes jazz, but this was something else. It was a nightmare of cacophonous noise that rarely met up for anything pleasing. I wanted to like the more melodic moments, but I couldn't enjoy them because they were sandwiched between screeching horns or rhythm players doing their own thing as loudly as possible.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Aug 19 2025

This is an interesting one for me. I'm someone who typically likes synth heavy electronic-based music, but this didn't really land for me. I'll give it another listen in the next few days and see if I feel differently about it.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Aug 20 2025

honestly meh. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It left no impression on me.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Aug 21 2025

A sleeper hit! This album was made just for me. I'm already giving it a second listen. Whatever genre and makeup this is, I'm all in.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Aug 22 2025

This isn’t my genre, but I kinda get how people would like Kanye’s earlier stuff after this listen

Guero by Beck
Aug 25 2025
Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Aug 26 2025

Super chill, laid back, easy to listen to. When I think of the sound of the 70’s, it’s pretty much this album

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Sep 03 2025

not really connecting with me 2/5

Ys by Joanna Newsom
Sep 04 2025

4/5. This one really struck a chord with me. Newsom's voice has a unique quality to it.

Lennon's style shines through in beautiful ways across this album. This was my first listen and I instantly fell in love. 4/5

Aja by Steely Dan
Sep 23 2025

My first Steely Dan album! I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about this band but had never listened to any of their music. Firmly enjoyed this album and look forward to hearing more!
