The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Aug 27 2025

Album has great harmonies. Must be early stuff because they talk about high-school and growing up to be a man. It's kind of charming because they aren't being all machismo. Typical beach boy sound but not many previously known hits. I liked Dance, Dance, Dance and Do you Wanna dance but most songs are okay and deserve a listen. Don't care for She knows me to well, but it might just be the topic. Like the last "song" at the end where the guys eat and chat. Not music but slice of life sort of.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Aug 28 2025

The Ledge is very catchy and I like it. Sara is good and it reminds me of the classic Fleetwood mac I know. The mix of songs feels a bit strange to me. Not as much Stevie Nick's as I would like and some songs and vocals were a touch boring. Looking at the album, it is written and sung by different people throughout and that is apparent.

Different Class by Pulp
Aug 29 2025

Never heard of this band before this listen. Mis-Shapes, Common People and I Spy are pretty good. I like the messages about classism. Seems pertinent today. Feeling Called Love is great. Many songs are catchy and overall a very good vibe. Would recommend.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Aug 30 2025

This album is decent. Not my cup of tea but recognize their influence on other music. The solo guitarist is killer good and rightfully steals the show.

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Aug 31 2025

No way. Not for me at all. I've never heard a singer be so bored making a record. And the tuning and vocal warbling. I'm not saying this album is torture but maybe it could be torture. Very low energy, off brand David Bowie.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 01 2025

This album sounds surprisingly modern for being almost 50 years old. Which is wild considering it's called This Years Model when it kind of sounds timeless. Several catchy sings like hand in hand, radio radio, and Pump It Up. Definitely would play this again and I like the samples and sounds they use throughout the record. Well done.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Sep 02 2025

This albums alright in my book. Very familiar with the hits and enjoyed many of the other songs. I don't know why Polly was so funny to me but it was. Would recommend. Last song not so great.

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
Sep 03 2025

This sounds like an album recorded by a heartbroken Disney princess. That maybe smoked. The tempos are smooth and slow, the lyrics are heartfelt and vulnerable. Her singing style is emotive and delicate. Perfect for finding love and losing it.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Sep 04 2025

This album was pretty good. It was sort of like psychedelic blue grass? Kind of like a 70s family band with the vocals but probably do medium drugs. Really enjoyed white winter hymnal and blue ridge mountains. Lots of really great vocal harmonies and a key change in almost every song.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Sep 05 2025

This was a great album. Great vocals, great mix of music. Love, you should gave come over, forget her, hallelujah, lilac wine and eternal life are all bangers. Impressed it is his first album.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Sep 06 2025

Bit boring this one. Wouldn't it be nice and God only knows were okay. The instrumentals were easy listening. Otherwise, kind of slow and didn't have as many cool vocals and harmonies as I thought they would have.

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Sep 07 2025

This is a great rock record. First half is incredibly fast paced and full of energy. Second half is a little slower and a bit different in style but still very interesting. All of the musicians in this band are insanely talented.

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Sep 08 2025

This is a great album. Lots if similar vibes throughout but really engaging and relatable. Some songs feel very comforting too.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Sep 11 2025
The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Sep 12 2025

I thought this was a Christian album at first. Then I found out its association with 9/11. I'm not saying all the songs are hits and sometimes it does feel close to cheesy. However, I applaud an album dealing with grief and the aftermath of losing people you love. I recently lost my mother and many of these songs really resonated with the feelings I have about it. It doesn't have to be an act of terrorism to still be world shattering. I recommend this album to anyone experiencing grief.

Sep 13 2025

This album is a vibe. It has a very relatable message, especially to young people or people who are looking back on the time they were young. Lauryn is an excellent vocalist and the sound is not only good, it has an effortless coolness to it that isn't often found on every song on a whole album.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Sep 27 2025

This album is interesting and great background music. It weirdly kind of sounds like most of the songs are just versions of the same song but it's still a fun listen.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Sep 28 2025

Great album. I can see a lot of his influence in modern music. Really like Andy Warhol and Fill Your Heart. This album is added to a list of repeats now.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Sep 29 2025

This album is really chill and the content matter is pretty unique to me. The tragedy of some of his songs is presented so smooth and soft, even calm, and it really works.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Sep 30 2025

This is a good album. Most of the songs on this album sound exactly like AC/DC, which is awesome, but actually hard to do. Sometimes an album sounds like the same iteration of the same song again and again and that gets boring. This manages to sound exactly like them and unique enough across the board that it doesn't make it boring or tedious.

I have a soft spot for radiohead.
